I was sitting about 4 seats over from Bob McKenzie and the crew during that game. After the shot when no one in the crowd realized it had gone in, McKenzie had a TV in front of him and announced loudly that the puck was in and everyone in our row started going nuts and screaming at the refs to stop the play. Good times.
Here's something about Vlasic for people questioning his role or whatever.
Watch how many pucks get by him at the blueline. Pretty infrequent. When a puck DOES get by him, it's even less likely that a player will ALSO get by him to get that puck.
He's like a ziploc bag out there. Everything contained.
I'm not saying he's been bad, he's been perfectly acceptable, but when I have to pick between him, Subban and Hamhuis, I'll take the latter two. Hamhuis is similarly good at keeping pucks contained, we saw that yesterday, but he's also really, really good at the breakout. Even more so on this ice surface.
Meanwhile Subban is Subban. If you're going to have a 7th guy, it helps if he's a game breaker and one of the biggest PP threats in the world...

My hope is scratch Kunitz and put Marleau on Crosby's line wish MSL. DOubt it would happen but it should since Kunitz has looked overmatched so far.

He caused the neutral zone turnover that created the 2 on 1 that he eventually scored on. If marleau had scored he would've got an assist.
