Not a bad consolation prize for Stamkos in 2008. What a player.

Know what's more annoying than Healy? The constant bitching about him on this forum every time he says something. You don't like him. Got it. Just shut up already.

Subban has been doing that most of the season. He needs to stop listening to/reading the news.

Thoughts after 1.
The smaller skill guys look excellent. Great period from MSL, and Duchene is absolutely flying whenever he gets on the ice. Leave MSL with Crosby, but I'd like to see Duchene play with Tavares and Nash.
On defense, still not sold on Vlasic. He's invisible out there, which isn't the worst thing in the world but after Hamhuis's play yesterday he actually made a positive contribution. I would rather have him out there.
Doughty is a freaking beast. Can't decide between him and Keith for our best Dman so far. Want them on the ice together.
Carter looks better than yesterday; still doing nothing offensively really but made a couple of good plays on the backcheck. However, Kunitz still looks completely out of place among the elite.
I did not see Sharp in that period at all. I didn't see Benn either until later in the period, when he had a great shift with Bergeron.

As far as I'm concerned, the constant bitching about him is still better than the man himself. That's how annoying Healy is.

This is what I was talking about in relation to Subban being on the team.
He doesn't bring anything offensively that Canada's other defenders can't bring, but they also bring the big-time defensive acumen that he just doesn't have.
Canada is going to walk through this tournament, best team they've assembled since 1991.
Also, St. Louis doesn't look that great, and neither does Crosby.
I know Crosby is the best player in the world, but if he's not working with anyone out there I hope he sees very limited icetime, the other options are just that much better.

I definitely agree that Kunitz looks out of place.
It's not that he's a bad player, but we have so many better options. I understand in short tournaments you want chemistry, but I would argue that Crosby is good enough that he can probably find chemistry with other players, especially since the Kunitz-Crosby line hasn't looked very effective.

Tripping in your kitchen and falling into the cupboard where you keep your cheese grater collection is less annoying than Glenn Healy.

Well that explains why I didn't notice him. Haha.

Austrian goalie made a save but gave up a rebound that sat in the crease, covered it up before anyone could get there.
Healy says that shows the difference between NHL goalies and goalies that aren't NHL caliber - you leave that rebound there and if there's one guy around, it's game over. Says "we saw that with the Swiss against Sweden, Alfredsson scores", referring to the goal Berra gave up to Alfy earlier on a scramble in the crease.
I mean I thought holding Sweden to one goal was pretty darn good, myself, but what do I know.

Tough spot for Subban as he likely feels that he needs to really impress Babcock et al in order to earn another game... this might be his only shot.

Berra has some rough spots to his game, but to dismiss him entirely is pretty ridiculous.

Crosby has continued where he left off the last few NHL games, doesn't look right. Kunitz should not be on team Canada IMO.
