Default Men's hockey lineups

This might be obvious but why is Tavares on the 4th line? Shouldn't he be on the 2nd or 3rd line? I get that Getzlaf and Perry have chemistry as well as Toews and Sharp but still can't believe Tavares is on the 4th line given how talented he is

Fourth line in the olympics isn't like a fourth line in the NHL.

They will be rolling all 4 lines equally, you'll probably see Tavares with more ice time than most other forwards cause he will likely be on the first unit PP too.

Makes sense. When I think of 4th line I think of grinders and players on the bubble (ie Biz nasty)

Tavares is one of the youngest player on the team behind Stanley Cup champions and Olympic champions. Makes perfect sense

The Bruins used their 4th line regularly in all situations during their 2011 and 2013 playoff runs to the SC final.

Are you actually disagreeing with me?

Lets put it this way

Daniel Paille did not have more ice time than Patrice Bergeron in those runs.

Looks like he's agreeing with you. Saying if the Bruins were able to run 4 lines, team Canada definitely should be, with a much more talented '4th line'.

Haha yes I suppose it could. You plan on taking a nap in the next few hours, or coffee/red bull/crown royaling your way through it?

Every line on Team Canada is an elite 1st line in the NHL

That sucks. Guess it's a good thing for Canada though.

Also, can they name a replacement?

Tavares and benn are going to be awesome. Get Duchene in with Crosby and we've got some magic

Kunitz is the worst forward to play for Canada in the professional era. That is all.

Worse than Zamuner? Let's not go nuts here. Although I suppose even Zamuner was kind of effective in the role they gave him.

Haha Zamuner, that's a pretty decent dagger to my heart. At least he was exceptional in some way of his own accord though being such a great defensive zone guy and faceoff man (although Nagano results being what they were - hard to defend that team). Kunitz is like a bad version of Rob Coattails Brown.

Watching him play Norway it really felt like he was in his element, right at Norway's talent level. I get the chemistry argument but I can't help but think someone else should be there.

I was agreeing with you jg13 and yep those all nighters can get you. I am a nightshift person so some daytime things can get me. Baileys and coffee should do the trick. Can't beat Olympics all night long.
