This pair skating right now is killing it, don't think the Canadians will be sitting in 1st for long.

That was amazing. The Canadians needed to be perfect to medal and they weren't. The Russians, however, were perfect.

Probably won't be a world record but there's the gold medal winning skate.

No medal for Canada. Oh well, that was some incredible skating to watch.

Robin only lands that jump cleanly like 1 out of 4 times.

Damn. That throw would have given S&S huge points.
Worked out well at Worlds last year. Not this time.

A nice rebound for Russia after getting shutout in pairs during the Vancouver Olympics. 1-2 is awesome and both pairs were stunning.

It's really interesting listening to the Chinese curling team speak English. Germany almost made it really close in the 10th end, but China moves to 4-0.
So in the Men's competition:
1) China, 4-0
2) Norway, 3-0
T3) Great Britain, 3-1
T3) Sweden, 3-1
T5) Canada, 2-2
T5) Denmark, 2-2
Canada still has to play three of the four teams in front of them, and they play Denmark tomorrow.
|
China had a really easy start to the competition - they'll drop back with four of their last five against Jacobs (Canada), Murdoch (Britain), Edin (Sweden) and Ulsrud (Norway).
Denmark should also fall back. Switzerland at 1-3 will likely make a run at the playoffs as well - they've already played Canada, Great Britain and Sweden so they have easier games left.
Canada has two tougher games left against Murdoch and Ulrsud which they'll have to be playing well for. The other three they should handle pretty easily.
On the womens side Jones looks unstoppable. They've already beaten the other medal favorites. Ott (Switzerland) is also a contender but they started 3-0 mostly because they haven't played anybody good yet. I expect Canada to finish the round-robin in first with Sweden and Great Britain making the playoffs along with either Switzerland or China.

Speed skater Denny Morrison lobbying for Calgary's Gilmour Junio to carry the Canadian flag at the closing ceremony. #cbc #yyc
I think that would make me cry like a baby.

As Denny is from FSJ and Junio is from Calgary I would like to thank you guys for such Calgarian hospitality. Junio deserves to carry that flag at the closing ceremony

Do you go with athletic supremacy (Alex Bilodeau) or Olympic spirit (Junio)?

I mean Bilodeau really deserves it, but he's got so much Olympic spirit in him that he'd probably give it to Junio anyway.

If Hamelin hauls in a couple more medals than he will get the flag.
