Almost over though, you'll have to start it over.

Pulling for Ipod here, honestly.

Really too bad that Calgarian Alexandra Pretorius couldn't recover in time for this. I believe she would have had a good chance to contend for a medal

I don't know if that was good enough from White.

That can't win. It is arguably worthy of over 90 still though. I dunno if worth over 92. Flip a coin if he gets a medal.

EDIT: Nope, as I thought. Judges got it right.

So happy Shaun White didn't even medal in half pipe.

It's a huge upset but it doesn't mean anything ultimately, that pipe was so bad. It's sort of like playing the Stanley Cup Final on a frozen pond.

On the other hand, if they don't fix it it greatly improves Canada's chance of medaling in men's ski halfpipe.

It's true, I am sure we will see a strong Canadian contingency in 2018.

The Americans biggest names have all failed thus far, I doubt they really notice though,

I think it means something.

They all practiced and competed on the same half pipe. Didn't seem to be an issue for White in the qualifying round either.

The three medalists were deserving and it wasn't because of the half pipe.

Everybody rides the same pipe, everyone has crappy conditions.

Just the snow slope event, that was completed a couple days ago.

Sure, it means these guys were either fortunate enough to avoid the ####tiest parts of the dilapidated pipe, or they're the best at riding through crappy conditions. That's a legitimate skill, but it's not the way you'd want to see the event decided.

I didn't say it wasn't FAIR, but it very obviously dictated how the competition ended up going. You had to feel bad for these guys who have trained in top-flite facilities only to get there and find amateur hour waiting for them. I couldn't blame them for being pissed.

Put the same field of finalists on a perfect halfpipe and the runs they put down, and the results at the end, are entirely different. Of course it's because of the halfpipe.

Here's the long and short of it: I'm seriously considering betting on some of the underdogs for ski pipe, because if they can't make this thing better they'll be scraping guys off the deck with spatulas. It's a crap shoot.

White did go last though, so the course might have been a bit more choppy by the time it got around to him. It means something, but really you can only prove who is the best in near perfect conditions. He wasn't the best in today's competition, but normally he is.
