Men's ski slopestyle has the potential for some epic nut shots off those rails

So not doing a trick counts as a trick? Strange...

If they were going forward, no. It's one of the toughest things you can do.

Hmm, some of the runs so far in womens ski slopestyle qualifying have been... uhhh... disappointing to say the least. Hope it picks up a bit.

It will, once the mens event takes place tomorrow I assume. For events like these women have not been competing nearly as long as men have, which is why the competition and experience level is just not there quite yet.

Was the aussie coach a man or woman, I couldn't tell.

Those first runs will be enough for the first 3 Canadians. Hope Turski can recover, she has been far and away the most dominant person in the sport the past three years.

Watching the Canadian women curl. Our mens team is favoured to win gold and our women is favoured to win bronze. So far it has looked the other way around. Jennifer Jones is in the 7th and has curled 100% so far. Our men have been a little more inconsistent.

Not a very good introduction to this event. More than half of the jumpers haven't even completed their jumps.

I have been watching curling. But I switched to women's slopestyle( I think that is what it is called). It seems like their has been a lot of falls.

There have been complaints since a week before the games began about how terrible this Sochi course is. There have been injuries, people pulling out of the events, etc. It's not a good course and unfortunately all Slopestyle has had a disappointing introduction so far.

That was weird how Philomena had to go retrieve her own pole up the hill. Then she proceeded to fall down and slide down the slope.

So people should just start going down the course and doing no tricks. You land, you make it!!

Yeah it would seem that way, I guess Shaun White wasn't just making it all up then. The half-pipe course is a disaster as well, who knows if they'll get that in today; the weather is wreaking havoc as well.

Maybe the Austrians can't afford more ski-poles?
