Me too. He's only played 3 more games for the Flames this year than Westgarth

Are you talking about Ortio? Ortio knew all along he was called up to back up during the trip then he will be back to Heat after.

All players that get sent to the minors feel slighted by the Flames organization and become bitter and it then ruins our chances of keeping these players and our chances of rebuilding, all simply because we have hard headed management and coaches who should realize we are rebuilding which means do whatever it takes to coddle and be nice to all prospects and just do what they want to keep them happy.

I'm most interested to see how badly this latest gaff of sending Ortio and Breen down after limited and no action with the Flames will further ruffle Sven's feathers and see him drift further away from becoming a solid player for the Flames. When will Burke and Hartley learn?

Can't tell with some of you but is this post serious or did you forget the green text? I'm hoping for your mental state that you forgot to make the text green because this is one of the most out of touch posts of 2014 so far.

What does your gut tell you, I'm guessing your instincts are likely correct

I'm confused by this post...

Sven is not a bird, and therefore his feathers cannot be ruffled.

It is ridiculous, but it's made understandable by the love others get for having good advanced stats.

I actually agree the hate is rediculous, but it's understandable. The guy is incredibly streaky, like most players that hit his numbers, but when he's off, he's really off. Floats around the ice, contributes in no other areas of the game, and just seems sour and pissed off all the time, like it's an inconvience to him that he has to play hockey and earn his millions.

I disagree, if you want to bring the compete level of Rene Bourque to the current Flames you're going to get called out. Streaky? The whole team is streaky because no one is able to score at a consistent rate.

Somewhere along the lines he has made a conscious decision to play as a one dimensional finesse player and he stands out like a sore thumb on this team.

No longer a player I would surround youth with to mentor, except maybe in Edmonton.

It's also ridiculous that some people claim solid NHL forwards are KHL bound, and become eerily silent during periods of Olympic possibility or high levels of both offensive and defensive output.

C'est la vie

Your hate on Backlund is ridiculous, I haven't heard a thing from you since he became the best player on the team, how are you feeling right now?

Don't forget about how it's deterring Gaudreau from signing with us!

Come get me when he gets selected and puts together back to back 20 goal seasons without injury. Then I'll get eerily silent.

Here's hoping, but it's the ridiculous love/hate this board has that's put me where I am on Backs.

That's a juvenile way of forming an opinion. An adult would arrive at a judgment that isn't swayed by the crowd.

Olympian and consistent 20-goal scorer is a far cry from KHL/AHL player.
