After all that buildup from the CBC announcers about Bode's owning of the course, that was pretty underwhelming.

Bode let his gamer fans down. Disappointing.

Wonder if the course has slowed down a bit, none of these riders are even coming close on the bottom section.

So how much do we have to pay to steal an Austrian coach? We must have the facilities, is it just a culture thing? Not many people wanna do Alpine anymore?

Well, at least Osborne-Paradis will always have the drunken Stampede pub crawl to be the moment most will remember from his career.

Looks like a bad day all around for the top downhill guys. Canadians were pretty terrible in all their training runs as well. Too bad.

I've finally found a team where Johnny Gaudreau would be the tallest player: The Japanese women's team. Their tallest player is 5'6".

That is one of the best downhill courses out there, right up there with the Hahnenkamm in Kitzbuhel.
Congratulations to Mayer and all of Austria!!!

More controversy in women's Slopestyle. So far some Brit does an average run and someone gets into 1st (they are in the 2nd run) after a long judging delay.
The next girl lands the first 1080 in women's Slopestyle, and score is behind the Brit.
The CBC guys in the booth are speechless at both...seems as if the disgraced IOC judges from early 2000's Boxing and Wrestling have landed at Slopestyle.
Canadian still to come after a dreadful opening run in the final.

This one I don't mind. Jones executed perfectly, Candrian put her hand down on the landing and her rails didn't look as good either.
Edit: Rukajarvi had neither technical perfection nor a really good trick, and beat both of them. So now I don't get the judging either.
Edit: Anderson had a hand touch, beats all three.

Considering what I've seen of Slopestyle before the Olympics, it was just a terrible watching experience overall. Judging all over the place, zero consistency, and the clear ridiculousness of having to wait 2-3 minutes for scores for certain riders where you clearly know there is some huge debate going on. The 'head judging' system is absurdity.
Skiathlon was super exciting at the sprint, the bronze medal came down to two people going over the line at almost the exact same time. I can't imagine being that close to a medal and not winning.
Looks like our only remaining shot at a medal today is the Team Figure Skating Event where we should get the silver. I think the US will move up in points but nowhere near enough to challenge.
I feel weird being on Sochi time!

The judging scandal reported on by the French hasn't really materialized. Canada are now guaranteed at best a silver in the team event.
