Default I need help! Web Hosting/Monthly Maintenance

I volunteer for a community association.
We had someone design our website and take care of the hosting stuff.
He was helping update the site on a monthly basis but due to other commitments, can no longer help us.

This also comes after we had our hosting site (Clickhost.com) suspend our website due to higher than normal traffic (No idea how this works/happened, but we had an online sports registration just roll out, that had a whopping 100 people sign up on)

Anyway...here's the message Clickhost sent us:

Spoiler!

Seems odd to us that even a few hundred hits over a 3 day period would shut us down.

So, we are looking to switch hosts and are also in the market to find someone to do the monthly maintenance.

Does anyone know the costs of, and maybe a suggestion of where to look for: (keeping in mind that we are very limited on funds)
Edit: We have an existing website that we still want to use. We just need to find someone and know:

- Cost to transfer from current host to a different host
- Monthly maintenance (include approx turnaround times for requests)
- Cost to build on a few pages for our business directory

Thanks!

Thanks. Should have mentioned. We have an existing website and want to keep using it. Just need someone to take it over both via a monthly updating and hosting position

We use Fatcow.com to host our website, I couldn't tell you what the domain transfer would cost. We've been very happy with it and have a pretty high volume of hits.

We did stop using their forum offerings though, but it doesn't look like that's of any interest to you.

With all of the web design tools and everything we probably pay about $300.00 per year.

Squarespace sites have unlimited bandwidth and the adverts on TWIT claim that it is impossible to bring a site down. Moving the hosting shouldn't be an issue for anyone you want touching your site.

Out of curiosity, what kind of updates are done? How often? I really can't see it bring that big of a deal, but maybe I am underestimating the challenge here.

Updates include adding events to the main page.
Stampede breakfast info, community clean up stuff, skate park, etc.
I would say 4 updates/month at max.

We have a Themeforest template. The previous web guy did a great job setting it all up. Now that he's gone though, we just don't have anyone to do the updates. We also had intended on launching a business directory where businesses in the area would list/advertise with us and we have community membership discount cards where people could go get discounts at participating businesses as well.

That was all put on the back burner for a while and now when we're ready to put some attention behind it, we have no web guy.
