Wanna bet they'll keep Henrik's not-quite-Ironman streak going though? Even though he supposedly doesn't care about that..

Already done. He missed a game or two before barely playing in their most recent game.

It must be out there somewhere because TSN is including the 'reports out of Sweden' that Backlund is the replacement.

It already ended. He missed a handful of games already.

Good on Backlund. He's really earned it this season.

Is this a legit source? Does this mean it's confirmed?

I don't think so. If Backlund is saying he hasn't heard anything I think everyone is just going off of the initial report.

I would love if two Canucks injuries (Hamhuis and Sedin) meant two Flames (Giordano and Backlund) were going to the Olympics.

C'mon please be true... I'd like to have a team to root for silver and Backs would make it Sweden (With the Swiss for my Bronze underdog hope).

I'm also annoyed that I was beaten to the Where R U Chris O'Sullivan joke.

So who would be Backlund's biggest competition?

Mikael Backlund@mbacklund1155 secs

I haven't heard anything about Olympics. I haven't got the call to from Pär Mårts. No replacement is official yet!
