Looked to me like Cammalleri was trying too hard last night to make things happen in front of those fans and it yielded poor results. To me the turning point was the 2 minute 5 on 3. Not sure why Hartley left out the first unit for almost 90 seconds of the powerplay when it was evident they weren't going to get things done doing nothing but perimeter passing. When your top unit stinks you have to get the other group out as I thought Colborne, Monahan, and Jones were the best line last night.

When the second pp unit came on for the last 30 seconds of that 5 on 3, they did the exact same thing as the first unit... Stood still with 3 men in a line at crease level and 2 men on the point, no movement. To me, it looked like a coaching issue with how that 5 on 3 was constructed more than a player issue. What exactly were they trying to do for that 2 minutes other than let a d-man wind up for a slapper?

Oh one more thing that I really noticed live was how much calgary relies on stretch passes. Almost always there are three forwards near the other teams blue line waiting for the puck, and when it comes it either blows past them or they have no speed when they receive the pass. This is my biggest issue with Hartley, as he seems to be getting the boys to work hard and gel as a team.

At this point Cammy's trade value is declining.. If you can Burke, get the best deal for him. Stempy is looking better and easier for us to trade. Also, will Glencross be back soon? Curious to see how he plays after a long injury.

Well, except for the part where we won the previous three games he played in.

Are we talking about the same game? The 2nd unit was only in the offensive zone for about 5 seconds before Wideman passed the puck back to nobody on the other side crossing the blue line and then the last 25 seconds were spent in the Flames end of the ice. Granted they may have set up the same way but we really never got a chance to see any puck movement.

He's had back luck, he hasn't won a regulation game yet this year. I think that was the jist of it.

From the few seconds we did see them they looked like they were going to be more aggressive, at least to me it did

Wes Gilbertson @SUNGilbertson
#Flames G Reto Berra gets the start on Long Island. LW Paul Byron will be back in lineup. Kevin Westgarth likely odd man out.

I mean, the guy is trying - he is a human though, he isn't perfect.
For example; look at Hudler. Just as many -- if not more plays have died on his stick then Cammy's this game and no one is saying anything about him.
I'm not trying to come across as a jerk, but I feel that needs to be said.

I will admit I have never been a Cammy fan, but he has taken the floating to a new height. As I stated in the game thread, and it is only my opinion, is Cammy has sucked his linemates down to his level of suckage. Monahan/Colbourne/Galiardi all played hard while he was injured and as soon as he comes back they demote Galiardi and give Cammy 19-20 minutes of ice time. Next game just watch him, he does no back checking, floats at the blue line and watches. In the offensive zone he gets the puck and shoots it, usually high into the glass so they have to regroup.
Three times last night I watched him play through 2 sets of linemates. When his center and winger changed he stayed on through the next line. Cammy does nothing to make his team or teammates better, he only does what makes him look good.
