WGMG is creepy old dudes at the office talking about "so and so"'s ass or "what's her nuts" tits. I don't give a #### about your opinion. You're not a dating website. Why are you making suggestive and repulsive comments about randoms around the office when I don't laugh or acknowledge said comments. Not only do I not want to talk about these things with the vast majority of people outside of my 2-3 super close friends, you're a repulsive old man and it's extremely unprofessional and you should be fired for being such a monumental objectifying creep. Not to mention I wouldn't talk about anyone the way these people do in the first place.

Seems like a lot of dudes I work with chirp this crap. I don't care, you're ugly and an idiot anyway. Stop talking to me about this, I'm asking you about work not Cindy's ass. If you want to joke around with me choose literally any other topic but things that could get you fired if people overhear.

So HP, why the return? Must be a gear grinder in there somewhere.

Just got out of jail? Statute of limitations ran out? Been on a raft for 13 months? Your 8 fingers and 2 thumbs re-grew?

For the record, I have become a political athiest / libertarian since you last posted, so please feel free to byatch slap me with that....

So this might GMG, I actually dont know yet. As I was driving home tonight on southbound DF I saw the multinova camera go off, catching a speeder going north. What might be the GG is that the radar vehicle had its hazard lights flashing. Just regular 4ways flashing, no headlights on. I seem to recall that they werent allowed to have those on. Am I wrong about that? Anyone know?

You could just tell him to stfu and that his commentary is both unwelcome and inappropriate. Maybe a little nicer than that, but you can control your end of any conversation and until you tell him to stop, he's not going to.

I'm surprised that this one doesn't come up more often....taxi drivers. I'm not talking about the issues with number of taxis and availability, I mean the actual drivers themselves.

I travel a fair amount, and by far, Calgary taxi drivers are amongst the worst I see. They have pretty much zero knowledge of the city, and the ones who actually do have a GPS don't bother using it. Obviously, I don't expect them to know every inch of the city like the back of their hand, but when I get in a cab at the airport and get total blank stares when I say "Inglewood" and "Blackfoot Truck Stop", it really GMG. Not to mention, the road skills of the drivers of many taxis I've been in leave much to be desired. The ongoing joke with a few friends is that the taxi driver at the airport just got off a flight 15 minutes before I did, and walked out into a cab and drove down the terminal to pick me up.

Given the laughable state of livery administration by the city, expecting a knowledge test for drivers like some cities have (London, UK) is not a realistic solution. I've often been tempted to try and start a movement where passengers don't tip if they have to give the driver step by step instructions to find their house. But I'm fully aware that is a total dick move, so I've never done it.

It's gotten to the point where I'll rent a car at the airport and return to a DT location the next day to avoid Calgary cab drivers when I'm flying home. Or we'll leave our car at the airport on personal trips, despite the fact that a taxi might be $20 or $25 cheaper, and you don't have to drag luggage out to parkade 2.

I don't think it's any secret that our taxi industry is a joke for a city of over a million people. But it still RGMG.

I agree. The way I have dealt with it in the past is just by saying "maybe you shouldn't be talking about that kind of stuff in the office".

It doesn't make you look like a bad guy; it reminds them that whatever they're bantering on about isn't appropriate in the office. It actually makes you appear as though you care about them not getting fired, when in reality you just wasnt them to discontinue the annoying behavior, and since you're you're not being passive about the improper behavior, you've kind of covered your arse.

So far today, everything! I am just grumpy! I have had a cold for a week and it is hanging on just enough to be annoying. It is snowing...again, I am busy at work which is great, but he whiny few are getting all of my time and attention which does not let me get on with my work. My son is having trouble sleeping, my daughter has weened off of her nap and sleeps so well at night, but that comes with at least one mid to late afternoon meltdown. I could go on.

Not really great anywhere in Canada, I'd agree. But of the woeful lot, the Calgary drivers are the woefulest. Regina, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Montreal are all far better.

For whatever reason, I never have many taxi issues in the US. By far, the best taxi drivers I've ever encountered, on multiple trips, are in Portland, OR. But NY, LA & San Fran drivers are all far more professional than any Canadian ones I've experienced. Vegas drivers can be a bit sketchy, but you just have to know the drill to avoid getting long hauled....or paying the fare at all when they deliver you to a gentlemen's establishment.

We had a bad taxi driver in Paris. He gave us dirty looks when we wanted him to move his junk off the front seat so that four of us could fit in at the airport and then had no idea how to get anywhere in the city. He even tried to convince us that he was at our hotel when the name was different and his GPS indicated that he had to go another block.

Also, have you ever tried to get a taxi driver near Khao San Road in Bangkok. Once they find out that you don't want to go to a ping pong show they usually remember that they can't take you where you want to go and then drop you off on the side of the road.

I could just murder people sometimes. We were scheduled to have a team meeting at 10am but there are some people away today due to illness. So about 15 minutes before the meeting my manager emails everyone to cancel the meeting. The lady a few cubes away feels that it is her duty to walk around and yell at the top of her lungs that the meeting's been cancelled. Yes, we all got the email, we can all read. Plus I'm on the phone with someone in Toronto, they don't need to hear someone screaming about that. Plus she needs confirmation that we heard her..

"Tracy! The meeting's been canceled, Tracy!??"
"Hey! I'm on the phone!"

The guy beside me was on the phone too. What's worse now is that the meeting is cancelled she feels that she doesn't have to work in that period of time so she's shuffled off somewhere to talk to other people. The guy beside me has gone to talk to the manager about this while I'm still on the phone.

I work with someone just like that. Loud Lisa. You know those people who don't necessarily mean to be loud, they just really project everything that comes out of their mouth loudly? She does things like you just described, and then the rest of the time she sits in her office (2 down from mine), and does the loud, long-drawn-out yawn "YAWN*AN*AN*AN*", talks to herself, laughs at her own jokes, literally narrates her navigation and editing of an excel spreadsheet "You go there, and you plus C4 equals you!". I have to close my door when she's on the phone. I know who her doctor is and the reason for her last appointment, I know who her lawyer is. I know that her niece & nephew live in Burlington, ON. I know the whole story of her commute to work five minutes after she arrives because she broadcasts it to everyone. She just speaks SO loudly, even about personal stuff. She's one of those people who have no inside voice.
