Berra lets in two fast goals, gets pulled and Ortio shuts the door rest of the way. The Flames come back and win it 3-2...
On a side note, was about time to see another goalie from Turku in a Flames uniform.

Berra is the one hope for Montreal, but they aren't exactly filling the net lately.

I think everyone is being too hard on Berra. The guy has world class skill. Give him some time to try to gain confidence and consistency. It's not like these games matter...
Prediction: 4-3 Flames
Bouma, Gio, Stempniak

I may be be looking with rose colored glasses, but looking closely at this lineup I really like it, and am not really surprised they have won 5 in a row. With Backs playing the way he is, that fits well, Mony fits #2 right now, Stajan is a good #3, and I like the wingers there. I dig this.

Just saw a stat that the flames are 0-14 in games that end in regulation time when Berra is in net. Holy crap

I really want us to draft a quality player this year. But I am not an advocate of tanking, and I really do hate the Habs. They're the Canucks of the east (Leafs are the Oilers). So, let this be number 6!
I love our top 6 for this game. I hope they rip them a new #####.
And hope Hudler has a huge night tonight.

I want the flames to win every game... Without exception. Even if the flames are in last place going into the final game of the year and will move up 5 spots by winning that game, I would still want them to win that game. Never cheer for your team to lose. Ever.

Only a few months from the 25th Anniversary of the best game the Flames ever played in Montreal...

Geesus, leave Kerr be already. It was funny two or three years ago. We get it, that man is a dorky 40 year old with a terrible fashion sense. He's a bit awkward sometimes. But you're beating the dead horse into the ground now. It's not like anyone else hasn't realized these things in the entire span of time he's taken over the PBP.
If you want to rip on someone who truly deserves it (yet not enough people have pointed it out already), then go after that dud, Simmer. He's not just bad, but the worst colour commentator I've ever heard, yet somehow he still stays under the radar around here.

It's a general statement.
And that's about the only thing he has going right. Awful commentary, game in game out.

Trust me. You hold onto your hair as long as you can. You must be 20 something with a full head of hair to make that statement.

I agree that the center situation is probably the best it's been in years, but the wingers are out of position or just not up to snuff. Being honest, Backlund is probably a 2nd line center and Monahan might project to being a top line center, but isn't there now. Stajan is fine at 3rd line center, but I wouldn't mind a bit more size at that position. Colborne is fine as the 4th line center, but Knight is a very real possibility there as well.
Hudler and Cammalleri are both realistically 2nd line LWers but have been playing above position all year and are very undersized. Bouma has elevated his play to deserve 3rd line winger, but could be just as easily on the 4th line.
The right wing situation is terrible. Stempniak is realistically a 3rd line winger who gets hot streaks a couple times a year. Colborne is a natural center playing out of position, but is passable as a winger…just not a 2nd line winger. Jones has the style of game to be a 3rd line banger, but not the finish. Not enough offense from that line for my liking.
Westgarth and McGrattan on the 4th line is ok when they get 5-10 mins. a night, but good teams need defensive players with the odd offensive outburst. We can get by with one of them long term, but not both. Galiardi is passable as a 4th line winger, but not at center, and ideally is not an NHL regular on a good team.
Basically we have way too many guys playing above their natural position and guys that are borderline players. Don't get me started on the defense and goaltending.
I like the way they are playing, for sure, but we still have a lot of holes to fill to make a playoff team, mostly at the top of the lineup.

Steinberg just said on the fan that Gio is the only flames defenseman to have a 9 game point streak in over 20 years. MacInnis and Housley had 8 game points streaks in the 90s but no 9 game point streaks.
lets keep it going tonight Gio!
5-3 Flames, Gio with 2 points.
