I don't think Wilson will be asking for $20m per either, he is a different breed when it comes to professional sports, he is more worried about the team than himself and as long as his agent doesn't screw things up he should come in with a long term contract allowing the Hawks to compete for years to come. This guy is going to be one of, if not the most marketable players in the league for the next 10 years imo because he is so different that any other player in the league professionally and personally.

Management will also be approached in the offseason by player agents with free agents looking to sign in Seattle, to be a part of the winning culture that coach Carroll has instilled in this team. The coming years could see some guys move on but could also bring in vets on cheaper 1-2 year contracts wanting to play for Pete. Coach is who everyone wants to play for, he is that respected by the players.
Totally agree, but sherman is going to make 1.5 million next year (with bonuses) and earl thomas will be making 4.5 (with bonuses). Both those guys are going to get 9+.

That was maybe the worst NFL game I watched all season. Disappointing that the season had to end with such a dud.

Not to take anything away from the Seahawks, they deserved what they got.

Seattle can extend some contacts which will lower their cap hit, someone like Clemons falls into the category, maybe Okung as well. There will be maybe a couple more cuts and hopefully those holes can be addressed in the draft. The draft has been very good to the Hawks the last few years, hopefully this continues. They will also know what they have in Christine Michael next year and if he will replace The Beast in 2015. Running backs have a look limited shelf like and especially for someone who runs like him.

There is no doubt that some hard decisions will have to be made though, keep the core together and they can be a top team for many years to come though.

Surprised no one mentioned this yet

Quote:
As Super Bowl XLVIII MVP Malcolm Smith began his postgame press conference, something happened.

Something unusual.

A man approached Smith, grabbed the microphone, and said, “9/11 was perpetrated by our own government.”

(And, no, it wasn’t Pete Carroll.)

The man quickly exited. Smith looked a bit stunned, but he then said, “Somebody check his press pass.”

It’ll be interesting to see who it was, given that security was very high for media access.

Congrats to Seattle, Howie and Browna.

Too bad it was such a bad game to watch.

Sherman was right, the Superbowl was the NFL championship game between 49ers and Seattle. Whoever won that game was going to win the Superbowl.

Seattle has so much depth because so many guys are on their rookie deals, it truly was their year to win it all.

Crappy to hear about Seattle rioting after their win. They are eerily similar to Vancouver fans. I don't understand why people want to destroy their own city. Thank god Calgary is much classier than that west coast nonsense.

Looking forward to the off-season, draft and 2014 season!

What happened in Seattle was nothing like Vancouver, UW students burnt some cheap furniture in an intersection and some glass got broken in a couple store fronts and a few in an old structure where some guys were apparently walking on for some reason. I watched the feed from Seattle all night and nothing that resembled a riot took place.

On a side note, I am however surprised that the anarchists weren't out in force like they were in Vancouver. Or is it maybe too cold for them and they went back to suburbia to hide out in their parents basements until spring? Don't they know there is some great cold weather tents that they could buy with capitalistic dollars and live in the parks in Seattle? lol@anarchists

One frat house starting a fire in the yard is not a riot.
The rest of that footage looked like the red mile without any boobs shown.

It obviously wasn't near as bad as Vancouver's riots but damage was done to buildings and historical monuments in Seattle.

So hard to just call it a "frat house fire".

Damage was done and people were arrested, can't argue the facts.

I guess people will defend their favourite team/city at all costs, no matter how right/wrong they may be.

The rumored numbers from Vegas:

Super Bowl handle was $119.4 million and books won $19.7 million. Both records.

(The onslaught of Denver money meant the books badly needed Seattle to win. Supposedly, the sharps and the squares were both riding Denver pretty hard which rarely happens.)

It wasn't near as bad as Vancouver because Vancouver did riot. Seattle had a celebration on par with Calgary in 2004. You do know there were arrests and damage here in Calgary too right?

We've seen some impressive defences win a Superbowl, but not repeat (Bears, Ravens, Bucs). Any reason for that? Can SEA repeat?

Says the guy with the 49'ers logo in his signature. Little upset your rival won?

So by using your goofy logic, we can conclude that SF fans are also eerily similar to Vancouver fans.

I just want to state that while I love his passion, Bar-Down does not speak for all the 49er Faithful.
