Default [GDT] Wild at Flames 8 pm MST

No GDT thread yet? OK I'll get it going

Projected Flames starting lineup:

Hudler-Backlund-Stempniak
Cammalleri(!)-Monahan-Colborne
Bouma-Stajan-D.Jones
Westgarth-Street-McGrattan

Brodie-Giordano
Russell-Butler
Smid-Wideman

Ramo

Game preview:

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/wild-fl...8295--nhl.html

For three weeks, the Calgary Flames couldn't win at home. Now, they can't lose.
The Flames look to complete a perfect homestand by extending their season-high winning streak to five Saturday night against the Minnesota Wild.

Calgary (20-27-7) was outscored 22-4 during a club-record seven-game home skid Dec. 27-Jan. 16, but the Flames have since totaled 17 goals while going 4-0-0 in a five-game stretch at home. Jiri Hudler had a goal and an assist, defenseman Mark Giordano extended his point streak to a career-high eight games and Karri Ramo made 27 saves in Thursday's 4-1 win over San Jose.

Go Flames Go!

“@SUNRandySportak: TJ Galiardi is at C between McGrattan and Westgarth in the morning skate. Would mean Byron and Street scratched against Wild.”

“@SUNRandySportak: #Flames have Cammalleri on a line with Monahan and Colborne.”

No way we win 5 in a row, no way... right?

Flames win 4-3

And when we win someone needs to make a dancing Burke .gif

Glad they aren't breaking up monahan and Colborne.

I do wish they'd put Byron back in though. He was nothing short of spectacular during the horrid slump.

I agree - he brings so much energy and compete.

But the fact that they are keeping him here instead of sending him back to the Heat who could definitely use his help, suggests to me that they expect that a player or two will be moved by the deadline and he'll be back in the lineup

Are the Wild anymore exciting than they used to be? They have much better talent on the roster now than they did during the Demers years.

One good thing about the 3rd jerseys is the white numbering is easier to see.

One bad thing about the 3rd jerseys is that the four-game win streak is ending tonight.

Looks like Neiderreiter has found his groove in Minnesota (9G 26PTS). And he was able to be had for just Clutterbuck. Damn, I wish we'd made a better offer for him when we had the chance.

Law of averages says we're due for a win in the 3rds. I expect a rather boring game. I'll say 3-1 Flames with an empty net goal. Goals from Stajan, Wideman, and Hudler.

Or they are worried he would be claimed on waivers.

Hmm the law of averages also says we should eventually win in Anaheim too.

I think we win by a bunch again. 5-2 Flames. Cammy gets 2 his first game back.

So is HD not doing the GDT threads anymore? Did I miss something. No offence to the OP, but I think this is the 3rd or 4th GDT I've seen NOT started by him.

He either got too Halifax, or too Drunk. Being both is a VERY delicate balance.
