At least they're working hard right now. Seriously, they're going toe to toe with a much better team in the hawks and it's 4-4. If you say that the flames have been terrible in any way in this game then so have the hawks so far.

Win or lose, his is good hockey!

This game has been VERY exciting but definitely frustrating. You can expect 2+ soft goals allowed by Berra EVERY game which must be disheartening on the team. He's definitely made some great saves this game, but the same old habits find the flames tied after 40 when they should likely have the lead.

Can't be surprised he's yet to win in regulation with the inability to make saves at the right time. It just kills the teams momentum, but I hope the story ends differently tonight.

If we're going to be a sub .500 team for a couple seasons, then these are the kind of games i'd like to see more often than not.

Lots of offense. Maybe not 6-5 on the scoreboard, but at least end to end action where our youngsters can thrive and show off their offensive skills.

In another season or two when our young D core begins to make the jump we'll start worrying about structuring our system around defense.

Wild game. Berra moves kinda funny in the net. He seems to often leave corners unprotected for a moment longer than he should and then jumps over his head to make an acrobatic save. Looks awkward.

P.S. Never liked Backlund but really want him to have a hat-trick today. He deserves it.

Ugh this Chicago broadcast annoys me at times. They keep saying McKyle Backlund. How can you possibly think thats how to say his first name..

The Chicago commentators agree that Berra hasn't played very well tonight and wouldn't be surprised if he was pulled for the third period (which most likely isn't going to happen).

Flames have certainly played a strong game tonight against a far superior opponent. But you can tell they're still struggling with their confidence. They seem to lose focus really quickly when something doesn't go their way, and they just collapse like a cheap tent. That 3rd goal on Berra completely took the wind out of their sails, the Hawks smelled blood and pounced. But I'm still proud of the Flames' effort tonight for the most part. It's not easy going toe to toe with a team like Chicago.
