I just think when Burke said Feaster could have done better in trades he was referring to these ones.

Jones isn't blowing the world away, but he works hard.

Guarantee that if Tanguay was here this season instead of Jones, Calgary is not keeping it as close in as many games as they did, and are not as entertaining as they have been for most of the season.

Watching Tanguay float around with Glencross would've been insufferable.

^ Think they would have been as likely to be shut out in 5 out of 7?

And does anyone remember how JBo was referred to one of the most overpaid players in the league prior to being traded? JBo's numbers are also coming back down to Earth. He plays on arguably the best d-core in the league right now too, which further skews his numbers.
That conditional first made that deal a while lot less solid. No Poirier? No thanks

Except it's come out since that it wasn't conditional.

Also Poirier was taken with the Blues pick.

The Blues pick was conditional on the Blues making the playoffs. If they hadn't, the Flames would have received the Blues' 4th rounder last year and 1st this year.

I thought he was taking about the rumoured Bruins return when talking about the conditional pick.

But even if the Blues pick was conditional it sounds like the only other offer (at least that has been rumoured) from a team on Bouw's list was Detroit who wouldn't offer a first at all.

No reason to praise the Corbin Knight trade yet. He's in the AHL and not exactly tearing things up down there. Let's wait until he makes the NHL and shows something before we call the trade a glowing win.

It's still a pretty good trade value-wise for A 4th rounder. We'll find out how good Knight is in the NHL a good 3-4 years before we would have known about the 4th round pick

This comes up a lot and people accept it as fact.

However, there has been no proof or official discussion since. Feaster said it was conditional. Chiarelli said it wasn't. That's all we know.

Maybe it was, but the condition was that the Bruins had to make the playoffs. And as far as Chiarelli was concerned, that was guaranteed - therefore not conditional in his view.

Obviously I am just speculating here, but the point is that there is absolutely no proof one way or the other, just two conflicting comments.

Feaster never said anything at all as far as I know. Aaron Ward said it was conditional. Chiarelli said it wasn't.

Call me crazy but I will believe Chiarelli over Ward.

I believe Chiarelli clarified it in that press conference the day (or so?) after Iginla was dealt to Pittsburgh. He said there was no conditions, and I believe someone questioned him on it again right away, and he made it very clear that there were absolutely no conditions.

I personally haven't heard anything from Feaster implying there were conditions. Might have missed it during the whole circus at the time, but I didn't catch it.

Did you actually interview him? Or was this more of a media scrum?

Nothing earth shattering.

Basically said he's excited to go from a 28th overall team to a 6th overall team. Loves the kids' energy. Spoke with Ward for over half an hour this morning about hockey and life. Has immense respect for Ward and Ftorek. He's looking forward to helping the younger defensemen if he can. The big thing for him is just playing and getting his enthusiasm for the game back. Looking forward to being back with Smith and Baertschi.

That's about it.
