So, Bunk, do you or do you not sincerely consider Star Trek as the best TV show ever made in the history of this Universe?

Which one?
The best show ever is The Wire, of course. Also, West Wing is up there.

I've never watched a single episode. All those creatures with wrinkled skin made me cringe. Just wanted to see if you ARE a nerd despite what you've said earlier. Seems so, apparently.

Bunk is quite possibly the least nerdy person in the mayors office.
If we don't count skyscraper nerdiness of course.

Definitely not a sci fi or fantasy nerd. I like Star Wars and the Star Trek movies - not into Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, Dr. Who, etc. This office is full of nerds. Daorcey being the biggest nerd.

What a BS article by Bell. If you're involved in a legal matter, you don't say anything. Talking about it and saying the wrong thing accidentally can be used in that legal case, especially when it's to the media.

Is there a legal element still? Looks like the arbitration was completed and the city is on the hook for $800k? Seems like something that could be commented on, at least regarding what's already taken place?

Sure, but if a reporter from the Sun got a hold of the arbitration results then at least some of this is public information? I don't know the specifics, and obviously its not in my realm whatsoever, but when there are newspapers reporting the guys name and outcomes it would appear that it would be safe to comment on some of this?
I guess it just seems weird. I am not saying Nenshi or councillors should be commenting and maybe they can't, but surely someone at the city could provide some information and insight?

The Union has talked to the Press and the grievance was made public so I don't see that being a stumbling block to full openness on this one.

While this is true, they are probably deciding on a course of action - however, commenting on current employees and the potential disciplines they received would not have been under the scope of the arbitration nor would the city be be wanting to comment on that without consent of the union.
The union statement is very carefully worded to avoid placing most blame on any individuals (members) but rather focus it on the organization itself. There is a difference here.

Bunk:
How much money have the Feds committed to the flood rebuild?
Are there specific rebuild or restoration projects their money are tied to?

If the only thing that ends up being said is "we are working on our processes to fix this in the future" I would be very disappointed. There must be something stopping a real comment though.

The Feds have been excellent with delivering flood recovery funds. They've been advancing money even before the Province has submitted detailed invoices. Worrying about the details later rather than tying up funds in red tape.
As for mitigation, we don't yet know if they'll have involvement. Certainly the Province and City will bear most of that responsibility.

I reported about 5 or 6 different lights that were out using the 311 app. The city has a contract with Enmax to have reported issues investigated within 48 hours and fixed within 30 days. Every single SR # I made was closed and the problem wasn't fixed. After 30 days went by I made a new ticket (SR #) giving the original SR #s for each light (or in some cases multiple lights in a row) that was reported but not fixed... I quoted the 30 day repair timeframe... And within 24 hours all of the lights I reported were fixed.
