@boringmonahan: I asked Reto Berra if he practiced that reverse leg save and he said he didn't, then he asked me if I practiced my move and I said I did.

Flames are now closer to the Islanders in 26th than the Oilers in 29th. Damn, they're awful.

Sorry to have missed this barnshooter.

Why did Wideman only have 10 minutes played?

I like wins, but dropping out of the top 3 this year would be heartbreaking.

Really liked the look of Brodie tonight. Great game starting and joining rushes.

Did anyone happen to make up a gif of Bouma's reaction on the bench after Backlund's goal? That cracked me right the hell up

I'll make one once I get game footage (tonight/tomorrow).

Only because I was missing this gif in the thread...

…and the JCVD gif needs this response

Flames win!

Nashville lost because they didn't have the good sense to put Nystrom out in the shootout.

D. Jones looks so much better after returning from the eye injury.

Brodie was smooth and effective all night. Looked like a true top pairing d-man tonight.

Berra with the great save in the shootout makes up for some pretty poor goaltending most of the night.

Care to provide a summary of what he did for the people like me who missed it?

Finally got to the highlights and whoa. That save by Berra. Merci Berra!

And that Monahan shoot out attempt was slick genius. Theres no flash in what he does but those are superstar kind of moves boys and girls. Lovin' it.

Also sureloss said exactly what I was going to post. This team is an entirely different beast when Kris Russell is in the lineup. He must give them a ton of confidence back there.

Great win!

Nothing spectacular, he was just standing up and had a stone cold expression on his face. Then Backlund scores and the silliest little smile crept up on his face. No movement, no cheering, just the smile haha

Was originally against re-signing Russell with a bit of one-year wonder concern, but this guy is the real deal. He is coming into his own.

Head up all the time - moves the puck crisply and with confidence. One of the few Flames players who actually excels at skating and distributing the puck.

And T.J. Brodie. Wow. Hopefully he learns to bring that kind of play consistently. Hope Burke doesn't move him.

Also Berra is good at the shootout but boy he needs to work on other facets of his game.

I would guess because he sucked tonight, and with O'Brien being an Oilers-esque liability, Hartley decided to simply go with four.

Two lacklustre periods followed by the some of most entertaining hockey the Flames have played all year.

Berra continues to be money in the shoot out.

Flames got some help from the zebras with some questionable calls to get back in it, but after having those types of calls go against them several times this season, I think they were due.

Really impressed with Brodie. When he skates and uses his speed to his advantage, he's extremely effective at both ends of the rink.

Good to see Monahan change up his shootout move after being stopped the last two times. Also, how about Hudler's goal? Sick.

Shout out to Nystrom on the four goal night. He's got to be disappointed in his team falling apart in the third like that. Not sure why they didn't give him a chance in the shootout.
