I don't think anyone is able to post attachments. I've been here a lot longer and have a lot more posts, and I can't post attachments.
I don't think I've ever seen an attachment posted in any thread on these forums.

Nope no one can post attachments, if you want to post a link to something that other people can see or download, you have to find your own way to host it (imgur for images, dropbox, etc)

This is clearly the work of the Oilers KGB.
I blame Kevin Lowe for the jihad against CP attachments.

Okay, maybe I wasn't being clear... so if I want to post a gif, or maybe some additions to the You Love You Lose thread, those would be links, not attachments?
Okay, so how do I do that? (sorry but I need some "what's wrong with you - are you over 50?" - help)

Find the image you want to post. Right click on the image itself, and a pop-up menu will appear. One of the choices should be something like "Copy Image URL", click on that and you'll copy the address of the image to your clip board.
Then, on CP, click the image link icon ( ) and paste the image's URL into the pop-up box.
So, let's say you want to post an image from the slideshow on this page: http://smokingsection.uproxx.com/TSS...rue-detective#
You find the image and copy the URL: http://cdn.tss.uproxx.com/TSS/wp-con...ad-600x337.jpg
Paste that into the image box, et voila...

Yup, only thing I'd add is just copying the URL from whatever site isn't the best idea, because a) it might not be accessible when using it the way detailed by getbak (which is why you'll often just see missing images in some posts) and b) it takes their bandwidth, which isn't being a good internet citizen. Plus in some cases it has actually led to us being contacted about copyright issues from the people who own the images.
Preferable is to first save the image to your computer (right click and choose the save option) and re-upload it to a site like imgur.com, then do the same thing on imgur (getting the URL etc).
