Yeah I kinda agree with SeanCharles, if it was earlier in the draft I would have been fine with it, but so late in the draft having the chance to take Semin provides a huge advantage.

maybe we just all pick the rest of our picks and leave Semin out, then do a "draw straws" at the end for Semin.
Does that work? who ever wins can can drop any F they don't want and trade him out, the dropped player is off limits to anyone else.
Anyway, should I make my next pick or wait on a decision?

^ Not a bad idea.
What should the ground rules be in regards to injuries to players between now and the start of the Olympics?
Being able to swap an injured player out for any currrently remaining players, at the end, seems fair....
thoughts?

Semin could be a bust too. Not every NHL scorer is going to be a big scorer on the most stacked teams.

I dunno about swapping players, I thought the rosters were set in stone, which is why I avoided certain players who were injured right now or are injury prone (Gaborik, Koivu, Edler). Not sure if others agree, but that probably should have been decided prior to the draft taking place.

Semin's international hockey point totals are pretty good...

Mostly people have just been picking clean the all star lineups. Some of those players will score and some will not. I don't see how one Semin taken slightly later makes a difference.

Like your opinion and all. But your not even in this. This is a discussion for the 12 who are drafting.

Personally I don't care. I probably wouldn't have picked Semin anyways.

I was going to take Semin if he made it to my pick so I feel it is fair game if anyone else took him at their pick when they found out too. I am alright with one injury replacement player per team if the need should arise, but said player can only be replaced with the player taking that particular roster spot. Which is fair.

Haha that's the point. We all wanted him cause he is pretty valuable to grab in the 8/9th rd.
We should have an established rule for injuries even if the Semin pick counts.
I'm fine with rosters being set in stone, but then maybe I won't make my last pick until a few days before puck drop.. Then snag Giroux or something haha

Semin selection eligible.
Lets move on.
If a player is available you can select him, your luck.
There won't be adding/dropping after the draft. We go as is.

I like the idea of having injured players replaced by whoever takes their place on the roster. Say Stamkos can't play and St. Louis gets the callup, whoever picked Stamkos gets St. Louis instead. Would everyone be okay with that?
