I find the Flames lack of intensity in winning puck battles frustrating. The instant another player so much as approaches the puck, the Flames (some) just skate off like and retreat.

Haven't we been one of the most, if not the most, active teams this season as far as trades are concerned? Nothing earth shattering but the trades are there. And it's not like we have a ton of valuable assets laying around that we're able to move either.
Unfortunately as fans we only get to see the final product (ie: trade) once it happens, and not all of the other stuff that goes on behind the scenes. However, I would imagine between now and the start of the next season we will see plenty more happen. And not for the sake of PR thankfully.

If the trade deadline passes and Burke hasn't done anything then you will have a point, but now the OP just looks like a guy wanting to spew his anti-Burke rhetoric.

This team was going to be bad this year, everyone knew that. There is no reason to rush into any trades.
I expect Burke to trade the majority of our vets at the deadline for picks/prospects.
Then he will name himself or someone else as the fulltime GM after the season is over.

I think you'll see plenty of patience when the rebuild starts actually building something positive. So far it seems all the flames have built is a wonderfully oiler-ish attitude that losing is just a-ok.

Wow...such drama!
Do you think this is a video game or something... somewhere you've gotten confused and/or really over-emotional.
Yikes.
You're not the only one, though, I'll give you that... there are many people on here that don't seem to understand there is NO quick fix from here... rebuilding correctly the first time can really only be done with Patience.
Attempting to cut corners will only lead to bigger problems lasting more time.
For all fans choosing to go the over-emotional route, consider taking a couple of years off... you're not going to miss much anyway

The emergence of Monahan is not something I would call nothing. In fact there have been a number of good things that have happened that I would not call nothing.
Kris Russell has been a major surprise with his play.
Gioardano taking over as team captain and coming close to an Olyimpic roster spot with his great play.
Backlund taking the bulls by the horn and elevating his play and being rewarded with the "A" on his sweater.
Karri Ramo assuming what I expect will be the #1 goaltender on this team.
Fleecing the Oilers to get Smid in a trade.
In summary there has been a lot of good things happeneing this season. I have more hope than i've had in 4 years and am looking forward to see how this progresses in the years ahead.

So what do you suggest we do?
Trade Cammalleri for Crosby?

Let's have a trade deadline, a draft and a new GM named.
Then we can start burning people at the stake.

The team needs an #######. A genuine one. They need Ott. They also need Giordano to step up and say something. Set it straight. If your going to lose, at least make the opposition work for it. Wasn't Bouma supposed to be our ####### at one time? Guess he's a goal scorer now.

Ott is nothing special. 8 points in 32 games this year.
Good depth guy, not sure why the Flames "need" him.
Bouma has just as many goals as your friend Ott, so I don't know what you're getting at.

Rather than burning people at the stake... I have already speculated, that we were working hard at the beginning of the season without expectation and then the level of talent and all the teams get spooled up to their potential while we were at potential to start and have now proven we are not competitive.
We're now seeing the bad management of not only Feaster, but Sutter and current management. Some people want King axed, but I truly think the will to win comes from the top down. Ownership needs to wake up and seriously decide how quick this process is going to take, invest up front, rather than later and get stuff underway. All of the bad decisions should fall squarely on the ownership.

Good eye goggles. What I'm saying is we need an ####### to stir up emotion. I would be happy with him scoring zero goals. Ott is a game changer, he has what some would call "it". Maybe your the type of person that bases the game on individual stats. Maybe you enjoy shootout wins too, I don't know. When a team has an Ott, it makes guys like the big erns of the world better at their jobs. Remember when Ern came back, pummeled, then saluted the crowd? Emotion. Right now this team has no emotion. Fubbalo may lose, but you see some fight in those cats. All I see in red right now is excuses and ####ty goaltending.

It's going to get worse before it gets better. Before the end of January we have the Sharks (2X) the Blackhawks, the Canucks & Nashville to play. We'll be lucky to get 2 points in there.
Can't help but feel like the roster has been weakened slightly & intentionally by keeping offense-minded players like Sven, Granlund & Knight in Abby while the team struggles offensively.

You actually think rookies will make that much of an offensive difference? That's rich. The Flames already have the Heat's 3 best offensive players in Byron, Street and Jones.

We are in rebuild no man's land. Kids ain't ready to be called up, veterans have lost their early season enthusiasm, GMs waiting for trade deadline and draft to make moves, and it makes no sense this year to do anything with a short term boost to the on ice product as the draft position is more important than a few more wins. Patience. This is rock bottom.
