The hardworking team is done because a)Hartley's whipped them too many times already and they can't/won't/aren't able to respond.
b)Plus, some of the things that make the team look hard working (stealing the puck, puck pursuit, shot blocks, and the team coming back when down a couple) has been figured out bt the opponents. A different breakout play, one less (or extra) pass, shots wide of the net as opposed to into Flames shinpads, and tactics such as not letting the Flames in behind defense for a breakaway pass, and generally aware of a Flames push after a goal against, has been neutralized by advance scouting and tape. The Flames coaches haven't countered with anything.
Plus, pretty clear that team's have figured out the answer to Hartley's simple offensive system, given its been 2 goals in almost 6 home games.
