Niether.
He was traded the year that a team that has only won a single cup won its cup.
So that would be one of the following years:
2004 - Tampa Bay
1999 - Dallas
1989 - Calgary
Every other team that has won the cup has won it more than once. So he was traded in one of the years listed above.
I hope that is more clear. It was confusing even when I worded it the first time.

Yes.
Won it back to back with Pittsburgh and Detroit.
Was traded in 1989.
Scored 2 goals in the 2000-01 season which was his final one.

I scored the 10,000th regular season goal in Montreal Canadiens History.
I have been traded for a fourth round pick twice.
In the year I was drafted there are 4 current Vancouver Canucks that were taken in the first round.

Good question... but never too tough for Buff!
Sergei Berezin is the answer.
The four current Canucks are Ed Jovanovski, Mathias Ohluhnd, Nolan Baumgartner and Dan Cloutier.
Berezin was picked in the 10th round of the 1994 Entry Draft.
The first draft I looked at was the year the Sedin's were picked, but alas, I had to do some searching.

Problem with that question, Jpold, is that Jagr holds the record for most goals in a season for the Rangers and he never played for the Oilers... but I'll give you some leniency since Jagr just recently broke the record.

I'll contribute a question since I stole J pold's thunder!
I played hockey on wheels before ice.
I played for Badger Bob Johnson.
I went into coaching after I retired.
I played for four NHL teams. They have won a total of 1 Stanley Cup since my last season.

Brian Mullen is correct, nicely done.
I've always been a fan of the Mullen brothers.

My career goal total equals the regular season goal total of the 5th highest goal scorer in the 1997-98 season.
Me and the player above both retired with the same team.
I was a gold metalist at the 1985 Prague championship.

I played my final NHL season in Monteral, but not with the Canadiens.
I was claimed by the team I retired with in the Inter League Draft from the AHL.
My career NHL goal total is equal to the only number that is hanging from the rafters of a current NW division team.
Who am I?
EDIT: I made a mistake. The NW division team has TWO retired numbers, not one.
My career NHL goal total is equal to one of two numbers that are hanging from the rafters of a current NW division team.

Nice try Buff!
It is not Carson. You are on the right track though.
Carson was never claimed in the Inter League Draft.
