Fathers Rights Group in Calgary
I was wondering if anyone would be interested in helping me form a group in the Calgary area to meet up and exchange information, protest family courts, even the legislature about some unfair conditions for non-custodial men?
Last summer I started a petition to rename a highway in Manitoba after Terry Fox, as Manitoba was his birth province. The province received the petition, and last month will rename the Trans-Canada Highway from Winnipeg to Ontario. The Terry Fox Highway. Where the mayor, and a school division failed, I succeeded.
I believe I can start up a movement in Alberta to support fathers that are in the same boat as myself, as I do not want to see any father who cares about their child's best interest feeling that they are alone and have nobody to turn to. I pray to God that a few of you will step up to the plate, and help me with this. Change is easier than you think...

I understand the sentiment, but this should be not be framed in terms of Father's rights. Children have rights to have maximum contact with both parents as is consistent with their best interests. There are also women who are alienated from their children by fathers.
Make it a child's rights campaign.

That is an excellent idea. My group will be to support the best interest of the child, and parents who want to exchange information on dealing with Canadian Family Law, and how best to deal with situations, that seem insurmountable at times. Or perhaps just to offer advice and support.
Sorry sometimes I forget women too can be alienated from their children by fathers. With Troutman's excellent advice, I will change the name of the group, which will be determined within 24 hours. Maybe "Children's Rights to Ideal Parenting"?

Hah, if Children have a right to receive "ideal" parenting, then they've all got a bone to pick...

There will undoubtedly be some who will try to portray you as misogynist. Good luck!

I tried helping people as stated previously in other threads. You're going to attract the polar opposite people in this endeavor. The Misogynist a-holes who will wish to be a part of it and the Feminist Misandric d-bags who will want to destroy you. Both belong on their own island away from the normal people.
Courts need to imprison parents that use parental alienation as a weapon. They can spend that time in prison when the children are with the other parent. I'm sure the weekly drive to lock up will straighten them out.

My friend is active with Father4Justice, I think they are out of the UK where the situation is pretty horrible for fathers but pretty sure they are international now, check them out on Facebook.

I have zero tolerance for those kind of people. It should be what is best for the child. I will do my best to weed out anyone who has a hatred of females or males. It would take the focus off what is best for the child, for their own political agenda.

i only wish the best to this group, fathers rights is a major issue nowadays.
Denial of access to a good parent is shocking.
I agree with mentioning childrens rights here but they get thrown out of the window so quickly in so many divources, after all a child makes one of the best weapons a mother has!

I'm sorry. Maybe you can do a better job. Why don't you create a forum, call it what you think would be a better name, and tell us how it goes.
Besides, it does not matter what the name is. It's the objective of the forum that takes precedent. In this case, it is what is in the child's best interests.

I'm afraid that I have no interest in creating a forum. However, if I did, I would make the name of the forum identify the objective of the forum. For example, if I wanted to create a forum dedicated to the Calgary Flames, I would name it something like calgarypuck.com. If I named it something like oilfans.com, people might suspect that, despite my protestations to the contrary, my forum was actually dedicated to the Edmonton Oilers rather than the Calgary Flames. But perhaps that's just me?

Well I'm sorry you feel that way. If a name of a internet forum bothers you so much, perhaps you have greater issues to attend to. My apologies that the new forum offends you. That was not my intention.
