Kulak is definitely going to get signed. Culkin is very likely, too.

Olivier Roy is top six in the ECHL for all goalie stats (min 660 mins played). Alaska is top of their division after winning again yesterday.
From a story on their page:
Quote:
OPEN AND SHUT(OUT) CASE
Aces goaltending has combined for eight shutouts this season, two off the club record (which includes the team’s records from the West Coast Hockey League era, from 2005-02) … Olivier Roy has three shutouts which is one off his career high (4, set in 2011-12 in Stockton), also ranking second in the ECHL.
ACES GOALTENDING: MOST SHUTOUTS, ONE SEASON
10 2008-09 (Lamoureux, Holt, Nastiuk) *
8 2010-11 (Coleman, Courchaine) **
8 2013-14 (Roy, Brossoit, Ortio, Guggenberger)
8 2005-06 (Underhill, Beckford-Tseu, DeCaro) **
7 2006-07 (Gustafson, Beckford-Tseu)
* Advanced to Kelly Cup Finals ** Won Kelly Cup championship

I really like the look of Arnold. If he can't hack it as an NHL centre he'll make a great RW.
Next season we could see all of Gaudreau, Arnold, Poirier, Klimchuck Kulak, Culkin & Gordon go pro, amirite? Huge influx of talent for the Heat, and maybe a couple make the Flames. Great stuff.

Minus Klimchuk. He'll only be 19.

Mostly opinion, but given that he's over a point-per-game as a blueliner in the Dub (where scoring is often at a premium), I wouldn't bet against it.

They must have changed something to prevent people from multiple voting. Last year I was able to login and vote on all 13 of the computers at work everyday. This year it is saying I have already voted in the last 24 hours. I even tried using my co workers profile.

I use chrome with Hola unblocker installed(so I can watch Hulu in Canada, I just voted for Johnny three times, once from Canada, once from Brazil and once from the States, may be an option if it continues to work. There are many more countries you can route through so maybe a way to make sure he wins?

In terms of Culkin, the impression I was given was that the Flames were willing to sign him and interested in signing him, but the decision was made to send him back to the Q for a full season of big minutes.
And Kulak was up with the Heat for a few weeks last year to get a taste of pro.

I think the Flames would be crazy not to sign those two D prospects.
They both have strong skating, by all accounts strong hockey IQ's, NHL capable frames (Kulak still needs to fill out some) and are point per game CHL defensemen.
Being point per game in the CHL doesn't guarantee NHL success, but when combined with the other factors listed, IMO these two (along with Brodie) are the best defense prospects we've had in our system in a long time.
Negrin, Leach, Pelech, Baldwin, Aulie......none of these D-men ever put up offensive numbers in the CHL like Kulak and Culkin are.

I admit I'm a bit more high on Kulak than Culkin.
I still think Kulak's numbers say more than Culkin's. Kulak plays in a notoriously defensive league and he's a PPG as a defenseman. What's more, he plays on a crappy rebuilding team. His skating is also beautiful. Almost Brodie-like.
Culkin, on the other hand, had an opportunity to turn pro if he could show management he deserved to in training camp, but he didn't. He was sent back for further development. Also, Culkin's had the benefit of playing on good teams.
I too hope they both get signed, if for nothing more than to simply see what they look like as pros. I just think Kulak is the better prospect.
