Oilers suck because they have no goaltending and defence.... so what do they do? Trade goalies and defencemen for forwards. Never change Lowe, never change.

Kool-Aid man Stauffer is saying that he doesn't think the Oilers are done here.

Well this is sure to help their horrific defense are very poor goaltending. What it certainly is is confirmation they are going all-in on getting Ekblad. And at this time next year they'll be making a move to be all-in on McDavid. And the year after that blah blah blah...

I guess they took those panel comments to heart about them overvaluing their own players last night.

ok, that makes it less good. But if I was the Oilers, I'd still rather have Hendricks on the roster than Dubnyk.

Have to wonder if that is bad news for Rinne? Thought he was close to getting back.

The Oilers are in full tank mode. They want Ekblad and they're going to do anything to acquire him.

And of course, thoughts and prayers to Matt Hendricks. You don't deserve such a cruel fate.

Dubnyk behind the Nashville D would actually be pretty good. I don't think he is as bad as he looked on the Oilers.

Don't get it for the Oilers. Hendricks is bigger Centre (6ft, 210lbs) but that's it.
Not really offensive (4points) and +/- is -5 for a 10min a night player.

This is a horrible trade. Dubnyk wasn't that bad. He was actually looking decent since a rough start to the season on arguably one of the worst defensive teams in the league. I can't be alone in thinking Edmonton could have done way better than this if they were looking to ship out Dubnyk.

$1.8 million/season through 2017. Not exactly a bargain for a 4th line player.

Not that I don't feel they're in tank mode, but how does this signify tank mode? Trading Dubnyk? A shooter tutor would have a save percentage similar to Dubnyk.

Hope this and any other deal improves the Oilers...to about 9th or 10th pick overall.
