Damn, I'm really, REALLY impressed with what I have seen from Mr. Backlund in the past several weeks. I'm starting to get the feeling that he may develop into a solid 2nd line center that you can trust when times are tough.

For a guy in a contract year, Stajan sure isn't doing himself any favours.

Why are hockey players in commercials always playing in the dark?

He's playing like he wants to keep the A.

Maybe Cammalleri will offer it up upon return. Gives Backs a bit of extra spark on top of that.

The best part is Backlund embarrassed Hornqvist along the boards, then walked through Seth Jones to pot that

The guy should've had the A at the beginning of the year, and hopefully he"ll have a permanent one next year (or sooner if trades happen).

He's turning into an elite third line guy. I know that sounds silly to say, but it's a very important position when you're building a winner.

The Flames suck now, they'll suck just as bad or worse next year but love the fact we have Monahan and Backlund down the middle already.

Big empty arenas with the lights on are pretty ugly.

Preds have shifted into 'dump the puck deep and send in 2 forecheckers' protect the lead mode.

Why is every hockey commercial more or less exactly the same as the last 1000?

Hockey has terrible commercials. There hasn't been a good one since "die, maple leaves, die!"

I loved the one with Naslund and Kovalchuk though.

Boston had a great series of commercials with the bear.

The goalie commercials from the mid 90's were pretty good.

Calgary goalie riding a zomboni running someone over.
Montreal goalie driving a taxi "Dats a good idea, go ahead!"

I would imagine that's the same series with the goalie riding the lawn mower that I referred to? Those were good ones for sure...but mid 90s!
