Perhaps they are confused by the fact Ramo can't seem to stay in the net at all.

Chris Philips and Jovanovsky were both 6'3 as well...

Both good defencemen but bad picks in hindsight. I'd never take a defenseman first overall.

My point is that if you want to draft a defencemen who can physically dominate players at the NHL level, he's probably going to have to physically dominate players at the junior level.

If you want your Pronger or your Stevens, you have to draft a Pronger or a Stevens.

Chris Phillips was by far the best player taken in the top 10 and arguably the best in the first round (him or Briere).

How was that a bad pick in hindsight?

He got a shutout last night, not surprising you didn't give any praise then. Always the negatives with you.

Chris Phillips turned out exactly how he should have, he wasn't a #1 pick because of his size going into the draft and how he dominated. No one ever expected him to be a game breaking blueliner, it was just a really weak draft year with no expected star players. In any other draft he would have been in the teens or 20s, but in '96 he was one of the top players.

I don't think he played that well last night so yes he gets no praise for no reason from me.

How so? JP Dumont would be my pick 500 plus points in the NHL.
