I'll go out on a limb and say Blake Wheeler. This is getting harder.

It sure is.

There will be 84 forwards picked. 53 picked so far. 31 still to pick. This is where the pool will be fun.

If you look at top 6 hockey nations, they will give 14 x 6 = 84 players. That would mean close of all those guys would get picked with a guy or two added from lesser nations.

All Canadian forwards have been picked, all 14 picked in top 62.

11 of the 14 US (Brown, Callahan, Stepan remain).

Only 6 Russian taken so far (Anisomov, Kulemin, Nichushkin, and 5 KHL guys remain).

9 Swedes are off the board (Berglund, Hagelin, Ericsson, Kruger, Silfverberg remain).

5 Fins have been picked (Barkov, O. Jokinen, Korpikoski, Ruutu, 5 Euro Fins remain).

4 Czech got taken (Elias, Cerevenka, Frolik, Hanzal, Hemsky, Michalek, Nedved, Novotny, Palat, Sobotka remain).

So that was 49 of the 53 forwards picked so far (other picked Hossa (Slovakia), Vanek (Austria), Kopitar (Slovenia), Gaborik (Slovakia).

Notables who remain from lesser nations
Michael Grabner (Austria), Handzus, Panik, Tatar, Jurco (Slovakia), Brunner, Nino, Wick (Swiss),

All I can say is good luck

This has been a really solid draft thus far, every player taken is going either right before or right after I was planning on taking them. The two concerns for me were injury status and playing status. There are some guys who have been taken who won't play every game, so I tried to avoid those guys. All 14 Canadian forwards have been taken already, yet 3 of them might not play a single game. I was targeting Duchene really early for example, but then I heard some analysts saying he might start in the press box so I decided against it (same with Subban).

Also some players (Kopitar and Vanek) should only be playing 5 games, so they won't get as much action as the players playing 6, 7, or 8 games. It's a really difficult pool to plan for when you think about it. On the other hand probably every goal each country scores will go through them, so I could see them put up some points if their teams plays more of an offensive style then say Switzerland (which likely won't score a ton).

My team so far:

Getzlaf-Tarasenko
Radulov

Timonen

Miller

Pretty happy I got Russia's best right wingers who should be able to mooch off Ovechkin, Malkin, Kovalchuk, and Datsyuk. I always end up with Getzlaf in all of my pools for some reason, at least he should put up consistent numbers.

Has Carter and Nash been picked?

^Yes, Nash os on my team and Carter was also picked.

It's kinda like a playoff pool, you avoid players from the bottom seeds but you gotta take couple top guys as their offence will run through them.

I'm happy so far with my picks, Slovaks always make some noise so Hossa and Chara should do well.

Fins will be in Canada's group but Austria and Norway so thats lots of points hopefully and shutout wins for Rask.

Nash-Malkin-Hossa
xxxx-Koivu-xxxxx
xxxx

Chara-McDonagh

Rask

You can hope your forward play on the same line, Filpulla-Selanne etc. That could be golden for ya.

You're missing Backes, I'm really not sure how he's going to do though.

Oops, thought I was missing someone. I think he'll be named captain personally. So I expect him to have a decent tourney. He's having a great year and is close to averaging a PPG in a defensive first system in St. Louis, so I am hoping for similar results.

Olli Jokinen please. The Fins should go far in the tourney, and he actually did pretty well in both 2006 and 2010.
