Lost in the Johnny love Friday night was the fact that Arnold's goal was the 50th of his college career.
Also, Arnold is now #2 in the NCAA in +/-, 2 behind Gaudreau. Arnold and their other linemate, Kevin Hayes are tied for third in the nation in assists. Gaudreau is fifth, only one back.
This crazy stat is from the Boston College game summary:
Quote:
The line of Johnny Gaudreau – Bill Arnold – Kevin Hayes has been unstoppable since Dec. 6, 2013. The trio was put together by Coach York against UNH on Dec. 6 and the Eagles have not lost since. Gaudreau, Arnold and Hayes have combined for 14 goals and 21 assists (35 points) with a +40 rating. Each skater was a +3 in Friday’s win over Providence.
Those numbers are pretty impressive, then you realize that Friday was only BC's sixth game since December 6 and your brain explodes. BC has scored 30 goals in those 6 games, and at least one member of that line has had a point on 18 of them.

Whoever put together the highlights didn't include the Providence goals (I hate when people do that), so you can't see the nice first pass Jankowski made on their second goal.

That pass through all the traffic from Gadreau to Arnold was unreal. I had to watch that gif 20 times and I still didn't know how he was so calmly able to make that happen. Good job by Arnold also to get open and present his stick in front of the net. I can't wait until both BC guys are wearing red.

That was awful penalty killing by Providence on that first Gadreau goal. Three PKers all go to the guy with the puck and just leave Gillies out to dry and #2 out to dry with the rest of the players.
And that unassisted goal is ultra brilliant. The steal is great, but then to get his leg back on the blue line before he carries it in to avoid being offside is crazy.

At this point, I think Arnold knows that when Johnny has the puck, he just needs to put his stick on the ice and the puck's going to end up on the blade.

Good catch. The presence of mind to tap the puck between Gillies legs, as he is skating by, after Gillies made the initial save is also damn impressive.

I wonder what it would take to get Hayes out of Chicago? Completely ignoring the fact that he plays with Gaudreau and Arnold, he has been a player I have liked since the draft.
They traded Jimmy.. who is his older brother?
Gaudreaus college linemates right now:
Kevin Hayes - 6"3 - 205 lbs
Bill Arnold - 6"0 - 210 lbs
Surround the skill with beef and truculence!!

Boston College is playing again this afternoon on the road against Brown.
The Arnold-Gaudreau-Hayes line just keeps on rolling. They scored a PP goal early in the second. No point for Johnny on the goal, but Arnold got the assist on Hayes' goal.

Providence goaltender Jon Gillies is here, supporting his teammate from World Juniors, Thatcher Demko - GREAT show of sportsmanship!
