Cammy should fetch a first
Butler should fetch a second
Stajan should fetch a second
Stempniak should fetch a 3rd
Galiardi should fetch a 3rd
These guys are trade-deadline rentals. Also they are all young and serviceable in a world where the cap is going up next year. Teams will pay these prices because stajan, butler and cammy could be instrumental to a playoff run.
Cammy: Toronto, Boston, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Carolina, Anahiem, St Louis, Montreal
Butler: Colorado, Carolina, Ottawa, LA
Stajan: NJD, Toronto, Ottawa, Detroit, Carolina, LA

Maybe Burke can tell Harley who to play. Ugly? Yes, but what's Hartley going to do? No one is going to hire him.
Kids need to develop. Chain the hound to the bench if you really feel you need a deterrent.

Aside from Cammalleri these guys are not going to get that return. What playoff team wants these guys who haven't ever been part of a playoff run? I just don't see it. Butler gets a 2nd? Really? Calgary got Galiardi for less than a third rounder. Jesus I sound like moon.

As I said, if Burke can sell ice to Eskimos, I'll believe. Nobody wants Stajan, Jones, Butler, etc.

And how can they get more of these draft picks? Sadly each of the 30 teams only gets one per round, so they could......?

They can't. They have to cut bait. Calgary has very few players of any value. Unless they pull a slick one and trade down, ala Jankowski.

I love losing. That means season ticket holders drop off, I get a better chance of snagging some seats. Maybe even cheaper than usual.
Here's hoping!
Oh yes, and all that Reinhart / Ekblad stuff. Yay for those bums too.

Honestly, I used to take a bit of pride in the fact the Flames hadn't been shut out through the first 30 games or so... (33). The team worked hard and made a game out of it night after night. But boy o boy have they ever fallen back down to earth!
It's pretty hard to watch at times lately!

Not a chance. Not a chance on any of these. Cammy MIGHT bring a 2nd but more likely, a middling prospect and a conditional 3/4th.
Stajan might bring a 3/4.
Other than that... unlikely to get anything higher than a 4/5, or worse.

Lol...Care to wager?
100$ per player.
Stajan: 3rd round
Cammy: 2nd round
Butler: 3rd round
You take the return being worse than above for each player. I'll take the better.

Draft Pick

This team has no talent yet. I think it was a mistake not sending Monahan back to juniors or to the WJHC. Stempniak is a Bouma clone right now, works hard has no offensive touch and no puck control. Stajan almost invisible despite hard work ethic. Giordano is a damn fine defenseman, but I'm worried the local media is building him up to be something he's not. Gio is a 3rd or 4th defenseman. Goaltending is ok in my opinion. Team misses a stud defenseman, I don't care what people say, letting Phaneuf go was a mistake. Not enough playmakers, we rely on only Hudler to make plays since Burke sent Baertchi down. That's all I got... can't wait til the draft!

Don't agree, lots of assets at different tiers of value. Lots of variables to fill out rounds 1-5, lots of options for multiple picks in rounds 1, 2 and 3.

I make that deal if us not trading them means they could not bring in anything from a trade.

Well first of all, you said Cammy would get a 1st, I said he wouldn't and now you want to bet on a 2nd? Hmmm...
Anyway, before your bravado to back up your ridiculous claims makes you do something stupid like try to make several $100 bets, just look at some facts. Over the past 2 years, 5 players have fetched a 1st rounder in a trade:
Thomas Vanek
Bobby Ryan
Cory Schneider
Some Iginla guy
Jay Bouwmeester
Now, do you really think that Mike Cammalleri, the same guy who hasn't scored 50 points since 09-10 is going to fetch a 1st?
Sorry I forgot Jordan Staal.

Only time will tell what Burke can get for parts of the trash he sold to Calgary in the first place. I agree with some variables, but the flames aren't a team dealing for players to fill a specific need. They have to draft their own team before they look to add veteran players/leadership. Calgary is in a position similar to the leafs pre Kessel trade imo.

2nd is the push. If he gets more than a second I win. If he gets less you win. If he gets a 2nd then no one wins. It he doesnt get traded its also a push. Pretty fair given your post.
Yes. I think cammy will get a first. I will wager he gets more than a second.
