Finland will be playing for bronze against the US. I just feel it down in my plums...

Which in turn says quite a bit about how bad Russia is.

Other then Canada winning gold, I'm hoping for a couple of major upsets. Would love to see the Swiss win a bronze and the Finns or Sweden get the silver. I hope Russia and America bomb.

Come to think of it, I think Slovakia has a better team than Russia. Slightly worse forwards, but better defence and goaltending.

Russia might be icing the worst hockey team in their history this year.

What I am concerned about is the Russians are playing in Russia with Putin as the 13th man.

So what you're saying is that the Riders are going to win the Olympics?

IVegas odds are as follows

1,2: Canada, Russia (tie)
3: Sweden

4: USA
5: Czech Republic
6: Finland

7: Switzerland
8: Slovakia

So we seem to be ranking Russia too low and Slovakia too high.

I can see the case for ranking Russia as high as 3; home ice and the forward crop; AO, datsyuk, Malkin, Kovalchuk. Also, a lot of NHL caliber forwards might be playing in the KHL for the money and culture.

There is no case for Slovakia so low. The same thing happened in Vancouver, leading me to put 100$ on them. I was bipolar in the slovakia-canada semis.

I still find it funny how highly valued Jbo is now that he's out of Calgary.

USA roster is pitiful compared to their 2010, which gave Canada a true run for its money.

Brent Sutter was/is an awful coach. It explains a lot. How a team that could have won its division if healthy fell out of the playoffs one season later, how jokinen and jaybo and iginla and stajan and phanuef and hagman and langkow were horrid, etc. It also explains how Canada lost the world juniors.

No it doesn't at all.

What about that loss had to do with coaching?

What did the $100 pay out too?

Since I visited Slovakia in the summer, I have a little soft spot for them. I hope the Slovaks do well!

I thought I heard the guys on the radio saying the Czech team had Nedved and Cervenka on there?

Where they kidding? Over Hudler?
