Stubler doesn't stick around for long so DeVone can learn more from a mastermind and be ready to take over in couple of years.

Good hiring.
Not surprising he would pick Calgary over Winnipeg.

I would love to see Claybrooks become DC in a few years.

Suspended DB Brandon Browner would be eligible to play in CFL next season, because the drug he is suspended for isn't tested for by CFL.

Why not? Was a great cornerback for us.

Also the Stamps re-signed Jabari Arthur.

I think LB Malik Jackson will be on his way out. LB Deron Mayo totally showed he belongs with the Stampeders and re-signing of Simpson, I don't see any spot for Jackson unless he agrees to play on weaker side. I like Jackson but he's banged up the last few seasons. Maybe he needs to get his long hair back.

Default Pat DelMonaco hired as new OL coach

Quote:
Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel announced the hiring of Pat DelMonaco as the club’s offensive line coach on Monday.

"I'm pleased that Pat has agreed to join the Stampeders," said Hufnagel. "I was very impressed with the work he did in Winnipeg and I think he is an excellent fit for our coaching staff and for our group of offensive linemen."

“I’m excited to be part of the Stampeders,” said DelMonaco. “I have a lot of admiration and respect for Coach Huff and for what he and his staff have accomplished in the CFL.”

The Calgary Stampeders have completed a trade with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, acquiring non-import receiver Simon Charbonneau-Campeau in exchange for non-import receiver Spencer Armstrong.

"Simon has great size and ability and will add to the depth of our Canadian receiving corps," said Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel. "I look forward to seeing him in action when he reports to training camp.”

I thought Macpherson would have been the guy to take over from Calvillo but with him staying on forever looks like he went on to something else.

Seems like an odd signing though as he would clearly be the 3rd guy behind Tate and BLM with little to no chance of getting time.

Maybe he wants a year under DD and Huf to get a shot at another team in 2015?

Could be just hedging his bets given recent history.......good chance he is up to #2 quickly when Tate gets hurt, and if the young BLM falters at all he's suddenly QBing the CFL team with easily the most offensive weapons, and arguably the best offensive line and solid coaching as well.

Glenn is a good QB IMO, but he wouldn't have looked nearly as impressive QBing the Bombers or Esks the last couple years, and benefited greatly by being in the right place at the right time at the helm of a really strong CFL team.

Geez, the QB riches continue. IIRC he was pretty highly regarded when he was with the Als, but obviously never saw the field behind AC. I agree with Roof-Daddy that he's clearly #3 on the depth chart here, but with the offensive weapons and scheme we have, it's not a bad situation to be in.

Interesting -- on his twitter account he sent tweets to Glenn and McDaniel back in December. Calgary must have been on his radar https://twitter.com/McphersonAdrian

Man, that's a pretty solid signing by Huff and i didn't see that coming at all. Thought for sure we were running full bore with Tate/BLM with Glenn now gone to Ottawa, but I should know better by now that Huff likes depth and competition.

McPherson is only a year and half older than Tate, and spent five years learning from one of the greatest QB's in CFL history. With his size and experience, he's probably going to take a serious run at the starters job I would think.
