Well now the first trailer is out showing us in all our fatty glory. Now the nerves are kicking in, January 15th is the first show.
What I noticed in the trailer is how the fat people in Iceland just seem downright powerful and athletic. Like NFL lineman powerful. On the US version they are all feeble, and pathetic, and crying. But you guys are just manhandling that equipment. The girl diving into the water has full on Michael Phelps form.
Remind me not to piss an Icelander.

This is absolutely true. Most Icelanders are pretty active, even if they are overweight. At a minimum they swim 5-7 times a week.
I'm not "powerful and athletic" myself.... I guess there always is an exception to prove the rule. I was a skinny kid who almost blew away in the strong Icelandic wind. But the median physique in Iceland is stocky and strong.
A few years ago I just decided to be who I am no apologies, and when this opportunity came up I figured why not be honest and open about the whole experience.
Maybe some people will relate and it will help them in their own battle with their health, there is certainly way too many people in this world dealing with this struggle.
If people want to think negatively about what I'm doing I'm fine with that, I understand this is not for everyone and there is I'm sure people wondering how I can put myself out there like this. The honest answer is, I don't care what people think, this if for me, my family, and my friends.
Besides I hope people see in the show the reality of this struggle, and maybe people stop treating fat people like so many people do today, mocking them, their struggles. Its the last taboo people openly mock without fear of being told they are cruel and insensitive.

lol we all grew beards that didn't have one before the show, one guy had a massive beard and always has had one.
Not that we planned it, but we were like its great to have a ugly beard for the before pictures! The rule for us guys was to completely shave when we got voted out.
Yeah I have lost tons, way more than I would have thought possible in now 2 1/3 months, still almost 4 months to go!
Did a 10km run on New Years eve day, ended up not being the greatest idea but 6 other contestants went and the TV crew filmed it so I figured I should do it as well. My foot is in a fair bit of pain, the arch it seems, going to see my physio therapist on Thursday, hope its not too bad.
The TV station is also screening the first episode all over the country in theaters, don't know yet about where they will show it in the capital region but should be even more painful to see my big fat ass on a large theater screen!
