Culkin now has 6 points in his last 4 games. Close to PPG now - 5+31 in 38 games. He's fourth in the Q among defensemen ... two of the three ahead of him play for the Val d'Or Foreurs, which is the best offensive team in the league by a mile. Not too shaby.
Kulak also had an assist today in a 4-2 win over Tri-City. He now has 13 goals and 30 assists in 43 games. He is second in the Dub among defensemen, only behind first rounder Shea Theodore.
... I really hope Burkie signs them both.

When watching rookie camp highlights I remember continually be impressed with Arnold.
He has the tools to be a third liner..
Dozen prospects to make the show: Sven, Knight, Gaudreau, Arnold, Reinhart, Granlund, Poirier, Klimchuk, Sieloff, Wotherspoon, Gillies, Ortio (I doubt 12 forward prospects make it).
Throw in Monahan, Brodie and the 2014 pick and things don't seem too bad in the future...

I don't see why Arnold cannot project to be a Tyler Bozak type/level player.

As per @Jerome_Berube, the Remparts have traded #Flames prospect Ryan Culkin to Drummondville for a '14 1st rd pick & Francis Lambert-Lemay.

This appears to be one of those junior hockey trades where one team is stocking up for a playoff run and the other is stocking up for the future.
Drummondville is only 2 points ahead of Quebec in the standings, but they must feel that this is their year. They have also acquired Alexandre Grand-Maison, who was on Shawinigan's Memorial Cup winning team a couple of years ago.

And a tier below that group would be Hanowski, Agostino, Ferland, Culkin, Kulak, who I think could still have a role on this team moving forward.
Some depth in the system that hopefully surprises.

For the first time in over two months, Boston College is ahead of Providence College in the weekly NCAA polls.
In the USCHO.com poll ( http://www.uscho.com/rankings/d-i-me...nuary-6,-2014/), BC moved from 6th to 5th and PC dropped from 4th to 6th.
In the first USA Today poll since before Christmas ( http://www.usahockey.com/page/show/8...college-hockey), BC jumped from 6th to 4th and PC dropped from 5th to 6th.
Friday's game should be a good one. I wonder if there has ever been a game below the AHL level featuring 5 players who were all Flames' draft picks?
Oh, and look who went to visit his old alma mater the day after speaking to the team at Boston College...

I dunno why I can't shake my doubts about Hanowski's skating...
I don't know if it is up to NHL standards enough to make it...?

It's a lot better now than it was at the end of last season. It's still below average, but he's not slow any more. The closest comparable I can think of is he is very close to being the same player that David Moss was at the same age.
If he develops into what Moss was, then he'll be a useful secondary player.

Jon Gillies makes his return to the Providence net tonight as the Friars take on Northeastern, starting soon. Here's the GameTracker: http://www.friars.com/gametracker/la...?event=1257328
There is a video stream, but they're charging $5 for it.

So you are saying Hanowski is one of the fastest Flames? Didn't Moss win the fastest skater contest at one of the Flames' skill's competition?

Overall game, not his skating.
