Bouwmeester should have been on the team in 2010 ahead of Seabrook. They have corrected this mistake this year.

Some surprising picks but i guess everyone has their favorites, i'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the exclusion of St.Louis and Giroux. Never have been a fan of Marleau but he skates like the wind so he could be valuable on the big ice.

Nash? Yeah, he's been bad this season. No reason to believe he won't pull it together for the Olympics. Great talents have a history of going to the Rangers and shiznitting the bed.

St. Louis & Giroux vs Carter & Nash? Skill vs size... I guess they're banking on Crosby being enough smallish, high-end skill for the whole team.
Size is nice but Nash is as soft as a cupcake.

Here I am agreeing with Moon... but yeah. They really couldn't have messed up the defense very much. Whether they took Vlasic and Hamhuis or Seabrook and Giordano, I'd be fine with it.

The only thing they could really mess up was the forward selection, and, hey, Chris Kunitz and Jeff Carter, what do you know.

I was actually prepared for two or three iffy picks. They made four.

Or Benn, Getzlaf, Perry, Sharp, Marleau... picking guys for specific situations is pointless, you're going to end up with a solid PP unit and a PK unit no matter what.

Giroux deserves to be there! He has been outstanding for the past month or so and has a ton of skill and speed... I question the Nash pick but not much argument from me in regards to Marleau and Carter.

Don't like Nash, Carter nd Smith. Happy with the rest. Giroux and St. Louis should not have been left off.

God damn this team is stacked. Really glad Subban got picked... I think he'll be really good on the international rink.

Yes, they were asked to spell "intensity". Giroux and St. Louis didn't make the team because they spelled it as "intensité". Hall didn't make the team because he spelled it as "Durrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..."

Toews, Gergeron, Duchene, Nash, Sharp should be able to handle that.

Even guys like Marleau, Crosby, Carter likely not going to look like idiots if needed.

I am shocked by this.

Saying Kunitz should be on the team because his chemistry with Crosby is foolish. You could put a pylon out there with Crosby and get results.

I always thought Marleau was a lock. He is very fast, and plays by far the toughest minutes on SJ. As a defensive player he is pretty spectacular.

I'm a better skater than Carter and yet they chose him for the big ice?

Such a mistake.

I did a study of ES goals against per minute around the time the 2010 team was named. Bouwmeester was the best Dman in that category at that point.
