Other than the 3 oilers and putting Del Zotto in instead of Kieth on Defense that was a pretty reasonable set of predictions. But leaving off Perry for Eberle thats ridiculous. And Marc Staal would have had a much better chance at making the team if he didn't have the eye injury which really set him back.

A hypothetical Canada B could absolutely compete at the offensive and defensive level...but who's playing in net? It was hard enough finding 3 worthy guys for Canada A.

I think the idea would be to have 2 even teams, not one that's stacked and one with second tier. I think in that scenario Canada could ice 2 competitive teams. But it's not like it's going to be a cake walk with TC as is. Sweden, Russia, US, Finland, and Slovakia will all have good teams.
Just noticed you put Slovakia with Germany and Swiss. They are generally more competitive than them and, due to Czech's stupidity, will likely have a better team than them.

I still can't believe Jarome Iginla doesn't even get talked about on tsn as a bubble guy. Brings so much more then what he gets credit for. I am not saying he should make the squad. But definitly should be considered.

I love Iginla but I don't necessarily think he should be there. However, Iginla has way more of right to be there than a guy like Rick Nash. If Nash makes the team I am gonna be pissed. How he's even being considered is beyond me.

Love Iggy, but he is losing foot speed and that won't help on international ice. He's not a candidate for the team.
As to sending two equally matched Canadian teams, that would pretty much just scuttle any reasonable chance at one medal, let alone two. We're still the best, but the gap isn't large enough to get away with that.

If Rick Nash, Taylor hall, Jeff carter and Eric staal are all talked about that's a joke. None of them should be there.

I don't think he should make it either. But if Nash is in the discussion based on previous services to the nation, why not Iginla?

One of these will be "Canada A's" third, but the others could play for "Canada B".
Fleury, Smith, Crawford, Bernier, Brodeur

I'm always jealous at Team Canada before the Olympics. So much quality.
Is the announcement in 15-20 minutes?

If you look past your blinding Oilers hatred (I know it's hard) Hall would actually be okay to have in the top 6 with powerplay time. He's a great (though one dimensional) player. I don't think he'll make it, but I wouldn't be that disappointed if he did.
I mean, it's either him or Grandpa Bergeron.

Canada has no shortage of high quality offensive players who aren't defensive liabilities. There is no "blinding Oilers hatred" required to argue that Hall simply is not good enough to make this team at this time. He scores points, yes. But we have too many players who do that and more. Bringing Hall onto this team would be a mistake.

Honestly, why in the world would you take a player who would be good if certain conditions are met (top 6, powerplay, etc) when you have handfuls of players that are much better all around?
Hall is impressive offensively, but there are so many players that can produce at near the same rate (or better) while not being liabilities in other areas of the game that it's almost inane to reason him onto the team like that.
