No way should Mike Smith make it. He has been awful this season and is also terrible in shootouts if it ever came to that.
I say Corey Crawford, he's won the Cup and as a third goaltender would be most reliable to come into a pressure situation if he absolutely needs to play.

I know everyone is picking price buy I'm not convinced he has the metal fortitude to win the big game. Yes, he won world junior gold, but on the back of an outstanding team. He's never won a playoff round. I think taking Luongo and price as 1 and 2 will be our downfall. That's why i want Crawford. He's proven he can win with a strong team in front of him.

Especially after watching the world juniors its apparent that going with the hot hand is more important than picking who you think the 3 best are. At the beginning of the year Crawford or Smith would be the 3rd guy but at this point you have to go with Fleury - he's having a great year and did win a game 6 and 7 in the SCF. There's a good chance the 3rd guy never sees a game anyway.
Not a Luongo fan but he did play well against the Kings coming off his injury last night. Hopefully he goes into the Olympic break playing well. He's the kind of goalie that plays better when he's facing a ton of shots which won't happen with Canada so look for Price to end up as the starter when the medal rounds start.

I guess the good thing for Canada is that in general, the current crop of NHL goalies (no matter what country) are fairly average compared to the 90s. There is no Roy or Hasek or Brodeur anywhere.
|
Other than... Martin Brodeur.
I kid, I kid. He actually wouldn't be a bad choice as the 3rd goalie, though.

“@imacVanSun: Canuck GM Gillis says too early to know how long Luongo will be out. Will be re-evaluated MON in Van. May not be just day-to-day.”

I Still think Broduer could be our goalie this Olympics. The guy is still winning hockey games. Why not? The guys who are put ahead of him are not any better IMO.

I don't want 7unogo there. Last time, Canada won despite him not because of him

If Luongo is out I'll revise my picks to Price, Brodeur, Harding. Crawford would be fine as #2 as well.
I like Harding as the #3, because if the other goalies crap the bed, he has the best shot out of the rest to be randomly unbeatable. Really solid goalie.
