Agreed. I actually think the Canada-Sweden rivalry is my new favourite just so I can jump on CP and read the comments going back and forth. Leaving the bench like that is certainly trouble over here, but the IIHF has some weird rules. It's cut and dried for us -- don't leave the bench or penalty box to join in a fight -- but do they work the same over there? I have no idea.

Hell, decking the linesman only gets you a two minute penalty in this tournament.

I'd kind of like him to be suspended based on just the hilarious and instantaneous bitching by a couple Swedish posters in this thread, but on the other hand you also want them to beat the best team possible. On the other, other hand, you want them to win no matter what and nobody will ever remember or care that this guy was suspended for the final game.

1. I don;t see anyone saying that the Russian boarding the Swedish player is okay. If you need to invent arguments to attribute to other people just to make yourself feel better, it is probably best if you actually follow through on your promise not to visit again. But we all know that you're just being a diva. You'll be back. Likely by the Olympics.

Anyway, the Finns are doing a good job so far of locking this game down. Not much in the way of great scoring opportunities at either end yet. Get this impression this will be a nerve wracking contest right to the end.
