If you really wanna blame anyone for costing us the 1 pick, it probably would be Kiprusoff and his improved play late last season.

We really couldn't have done much more to tank except bench Kiprusoff the rest of the year. We just weren't as bad as some of those teams last season.

This year we are legitimately that bad.
All I am saying is that we could get a situation where guys play over their heads in some meaningless games. That would cost us position.

I agree with most of what you are saying but to counter I will give you the example of a game in Minnesota where Cundari scored his first goal and seemed to play at an elevated level the entire game, and the rest of the team fed off that.

I'm working on a helpful guide:

Dear Flames, do you see the rubber disc on the ice? Use the stick in your hands to place that disc in the net at the far end of the ice to score points. Ideally, at the end of a game, the number under your logo on the scoreboard should not be zero, and it should be greater than the number for the opposing team. I'm worried this may not be apparent to many of you...

Because Cammalleri has been Crosby compared to Stempniak.

Anyway, what is truly pathetic for this team is not being shut out three times in four games. It is the fact that Paul Byron had to embarrass his teammates into giving a damn by fighting one against three and nearly getting a good scoring chance before they even showed the slightest hustle. I love what Paul Byron is doing right now, but when he's the only skater looking to make a difference, this is what happens.

LOFT isn't the main reason for this funk so much as lack of frigging desire.

Also, it would help if the officials would stop screwing us around. There was no cause to blow the play dead for that skate blade issue. Play does not stop for reasons of a need to adjust equipment. And we'll never know what would have happened had that play been properly allowed to continue.

Also, not surprised that wannabe Oiler fans have jumped out of the woodwork wanting to finish last.

Disgusting. Just came from the game and that was by far the worst game I've ever attended at the dome. I would love to see the Flames' stat on completed passes, because there is no way in hell it was over 30%. I counted ONE total clean scoring chance the entire game from the team (Colborne). Hudler had the worst game out of anyone. Couldn't complete a pass to save his life. In fact, the only players I noticed who were skating hard was Backlund and Cammalleri.

Can't wait for Burke to blow this #### up. One of the worst efforts I've ever seen in my 29 years of watching Flames' games. The entire team should be ashamed/punished for that effort. These are dark dark times for the team. One of the low points of a rebuild. Ramo played good, but was left hung out to dry all night. I think I counted 4 breakaways against him and he stopped them all. Even Beazely had a tough night. Could barely pronounce names half the time. Is he sick?

Best part of the game was the guys chanting ''we want cup'' behind us. Made me lol.

Personally, I don't think Hartley is being given a choice with respect to dressing Westgarth, so he might be trying to prove a point to Burke by throwing the goon out in completely inappropriate situations.

This is a rebuild. Our team sucks. There really isn't anything that can be done other than being patient. UFA's will be dealt in the next couple weeks, the older kids on the farm will be recalled, and we wait for the draft to get one of the 4 or 5 good players.

Everyone knew we were going to be in the running for #1 overall before the year started. We are now playing at that level after a hot start to the year. It is going to be frustrating, but in the long run we will be fine.

That should end well for him.

I was thinking the same thing, but does Hartley really think he can win that battle vs Burke?

He has to know he's a dead man walking anyway. Burke and whatever puppet he hires will want their own coach.

I'd give that theory the time of day if he hadn't been putting the 4th line out in the dying minutes of the game for the past 3 months.

It's just his way.

What's the record since Burke went on his little power trip and fired Feaster? How many goals have they scored since then?

3-6-2. .364 points percentage.
Under Feaster it was 11-15-4, .433

Obviously, however, this four-game slide is badly skewing a small sample size. Can't pin this on Burke.

Low cut Flames tshirt. I don't know if I've ever enjoyed being short handed so much. Since it's a losing season, I wouldn't have minded a steady stream to the box at all!
