I doubt there will be a new coach hire until the GM is hired as he should get to choose his coach. There's no point in firing Hartley right now as the talent just isn't there and a new coach may accomplish nothing more than moving the Flames down a few draft notches.
I understand but we are talking about the impatient Burkie here. If he pulls the plug, we might see an interim tag on one of Gelinas or any of the assistant. Then the new GM can hire his own coach. Sometimes a change can change things. I also think it is time to get rid of some of the veteran forwards and put some fresh bloods like Ferland, Knight and others. At the beginning of the season I thought it would be wise for the Flames to keep Cammy and Stempniak but now I am all for trading them by trade deadline. I hope David Jones, Galliardi and even Stajan can be traded as well. These guys are not helping the Flames at all.
I can't believe how much I used to like this team this season to now...This is just brutal. Almost Brent Sutter brutal. Just not as bad because we always thought Brent Sutter Flames should be better. We know better now...ugh.
I seriously have missed maybe 3 Flames games since 1980. Seriously. Just due to family issues, etc. Now, I'm thinking I need a break. Just can't handle watching much more of this.
