Coyotes outshooting Edmonton 31-13, down 3-2.

If this holds up, it'll surely ruin New Year's for all of Phoenix's diehard fans. Jerry and Bill really do live and die with that team.

The Oilers were up 3-2 late in the third period, Coyotes tie it up and then Yandle scores the winner in overtime with 6.5 seconds left, 4-3 final.

The Stars win in regulation over the Kings 3-2.

The Ducks trounce the Sharks 6-3 and the Avalanche defeat the BJs 5-3.

To all of you on Calgarypuck,

have a Happy New Year!!

Haha grease lose again!!! Watch that OT goal and it tells you all you need to know about Oiler hockey. Eberle tries to dipsy doodle around Yandle, gets stripped of the luck by Yandle and Ebee just quits on the play. No attempt at back checking. Eller was wrong. The oilers don't play like a junior team. Most junior teams play some defense.

Epic finish by the Oilers. Give up the game tying goal in the last minute even though they had a timeout right before.

Then in OT had a 4 on 3 but didn't score. Then with under 10 seconds left Yandle takes it coast to coast (like in street hockey) stealing it off Eberle's stick (who had been double shifting) blowing by a weak pinch effort from Petry, and then Belov with about the worst defensive play you'll see giving up completely and letting Yandle walk around him and score the winner. Bryz gets pissed.

Just a hilarious sequence of events.

I couldn't be happier, while I could be but whatever. A good bottle of scotch, a Oilers loss in the most humiliating fashion where they have hope and it gets ripped away like a hot girl telling a guy that shes got a headache.

Shame about the Flames but my expectations are pretty low this year.

Wins losses, I'm the guy with the gun.

And its a happy gun

Was at the Oiler game - sellout in Phx

Shots were 21-4 late in the 1st, then the Oilers got a lucky goal and the period ended tied.

Oilers score 21 seconds into the 2nd or thereabouts, then again shortly afterward. 3-1 Oilers despite the shots being 27-10 and total domination by the Yotes. They pulled Smith after the 3rd goal, meanwhile Bryz played really well.

By 3-1, the Olers were feeling more confident and actually started to make a game of it. However, it felt absolutely inevitable that the Yotes would eventually come back. It took a long time, but the best team won.

Watching the looks on the faces of the Oiler fans after the OT goal made the night.

Also, the loudest cheer of the first period came when the score of the Can-US WJ game was posted.
