"I don’t think it’s going to change much for me — I enjoy what I do — but it’s going to be a big help, a big help for our team, a big help for me,” said McGrattan, who texted a welcome-aboard message to Westgarth immediately after the swap. “If you look at Toronto, with (Colton) Orr and (Frazer) McLaren, you don’t see too many things happen . . . guys getting pushed around.
“Hopefully, it’s going to be a great 1-2 punch here.”
The addition of more heft is critical, according to the team captain.
“It’s very important,” said Mark Giordano. “Just having Grats around for the last couple years — having that guy in your lineup — makes everyone a bit taller and stronger out there. It makes our team play bigger. Adding another guy like that is going to be huge for us. We know we have to be harder to play against. So it’s going to help us.”

Don't see many wins either. That being said, I hope Westgarth does add something to this team.
The Flyers played last night (and despite the SO win, were outplayed by the Canucks. Mason had a great game). This is a golden opportunity against an opponent from the weak Metropolitan Division.
Sure he's not out there to make pretty plays, but shouldn't Westgrath at least have a practice with the team before playing a game with them? they're making it sound like he's going to be heading straight to the dome from the airport if he managed to catch a flight in time

That's an interesting perspective, and you're right.
I think it also underscores the intolerance that Burke has with how our team is being pushed around.

How much practice time does he need? He's going to get six or eight shifts, each of which carry a primary objective of not being out long enough to get in trouble, a secondary objective of hitting someone, a tertiary objective of fighting someone.

Rob Kerr's voice changes volume suddenly, when it doesn't match the play
Rob Kerr tries to be funny and fails
Rob Kerr begins a litany of hastily googled trivia completely ignoring significant on-ice plays (a goal, a breakaway, penalties, etc)
Charlie Simmer says, "Pucks and bodies to the net."
Charlie Simmer says, "Keep moving the feet."
It's an eastern team tonight, so the situation and individual stats of the Flyers that Kerr prepares and thus blabs on about, should spill into the play by play twice as much/long as usual.
And, down your drink immediately if he calls a goal that never goes in, or miscounts players on the ice.

Loved the Westgarth "almost F-bomb" in his pre-game interview with Millions. Roger shrugged it off. Who cares about an F bomb? Rogers knows a guy that once dropped one way worse than that.

not quite the same, but close
