Really hope he goes on hot streak for a long time so that he can come back to the flames and reunite the hudler-Monahan-baertschi line. If the flames make some trades over the next couple months, some spots will open up for guys to move up from the farm team.
Nice to see Baertschi back on the board. Also like to add that Granlund could be a finisher the Flames need, Hanowski continues to impress, Reinhart is probably the Flames most unsung prospect, and Knight looks ready to step in. The Flames really need to make a move or two and clear some of the forwards so the kids on the farm get their chance. Deal some of the vets and get some depth on the blueline.
Love the fact that the Heat are winning and they're not this team of AHL vets and fillers.
Yeah. One thing about the AHL is that the success of the team isn't necessarily indicative of young talent as a lot of Calder Cup winners are stacked with journeymen AHL players. This Heat team is actually winning mostly with Flames drafted prospects which is promising.
Good video. Disappointed with the number of empty seats. Pretty sure the team would be better supported right here.
Definitely. I've been to Fort St. John Huskies games with a better attendance than that. I guess lots of people in the area don't want to support the Heat because they're Calgary's affiliate. They should put them in Saskatchewan or southern Alberta IMO
I have actually been thinking about that lately. The hitmen get better crowds. Would it make sense to move them here?
I think likely not, since the Flames are concerned about market saturation, and more importantly the potential for the competition this creates within their own fan base, which they probably do not want to do. Even if the team is not generating any revenue in Abbotsford, it is also not taking any revenue out of the Flames' market.
