Seems doable.

As most of us have never heard of the Carey fellow, how can someone undrafted have so many points and not be talked about? Do they play easy teams or something?

Hmm I wonder if another team could have used a player like Poirier?

Yeah, it looks like St Lawrence isn't a particularly strong team. Carey has been in on more than half their goals.
+/- is an interesting stat to look at for them. Gaudreau has 33 points and is a +21 this season. Carey has 36 points and is a +3.

Tell you the truth I think Gaudreau is coasting through some of these games.
You will see him have these awesome 1st periods and then he is quiet throughout the rest of the game if BC is leading by a couple of goals or more.
And Carey is talked about a lot. He is a strong candidate for Hobey Baker, and was one of the sought after free agents last year before he decided to finish his senior season to play with his brother. He will be the top college free agent this year.

Seemed that way in the one and only game I watched, but I have nothing to compare it to

St Lawrence is in a division full of "mucky mucks" not hockey players Gaudreau would probably have 15 more points there.
Carey looks good though, 5 years now he has lead his teams in scoring.

So does anyone think Burke will get all our 2013 CHL draft picks signed, or will he go "Bjorklund/Leach" on any of them?
Coda Gordon
Brett Kulak
Ryan Culkin
...all need to be signed by June sometime right, or they go back into the draft?

I'm hoping they sign Kulak and Culkin.
The AHL defense next season will probably have:
Sieloff
Wotherspoon
Ramage
The following will be RFAs:
Billins
Cundari
Martin
My guess is that they re-sign two of the RFAs. Breen might be back in the AHL sooner rather than later. Doesn't leave much space for Culkin and Kulak. Can they play in junior another season?

Olivier Roy had his 3rd shutout last night for the Aces, stopping all 16 shots in a 3-0 win. Roy now has a 2.07 GAA and a save percentage of .926% through 14 games ... would love to see him get some AHL time to see where he is in comparison to Ortio.

They won't re-sign Martin and I'm going to guess that Breen gets traded or picked up on waivers.

That's a terrific looking d-corps.

I've been to a few Giants games, and have liked what I have seen from Kulak. Not super flashy, but can rush & move the puck. Fairly gritty, team kinda guy.
I only know what the media tells me about Culkin, but he seems similar, but better than Kulak.
I'd be very disappointed if they both do not get signed.

Without having any knowledge whatsoever of the situation with these players, I'm going to say Gordon doesn't get signed. Just doesn't seem like he's really developed too much. You can look at his points and see a bit of a progression, but he seems a little one-dimensional. Maybe it's just me.
I do think Kulak and Culkin will get signed though.

I don't follow the AHL that much but that seems like a very young d-corps. I would think they would want at least one 30+ veteran on that team to provide stability and experience for the young guys.
Billins would be the oldest guy at 25 and he only has 2 years of pro experience and Cundari with the most experience and that is with 3.5 AHL seasons.

And this is why old man MacDonald needed to move on. Just now it's Roy instead of Broissoit getting shuffled down.

I think at least one of those guys will make the Flames out of camp next season.

I don't think the organization sees them as being close. I think they took Roy back because the Oilers needed to dump a contact and wanted to get rid of him. I doubt he's viewed as being in the picture at all with Berra, Ramo, Ortio and Gillies all way ahead of him on the depth chart.
I doubt he's re-signed.

I agree that Roy was just a throw-in on the trade from the Flames' perspective, but he has been playing well in Alaska, so if Burke can move MacDonald, I doubt they'd complain about Roy being Ortio's backup. He was in the Oilers' "development" system, so he might end up being a diamond in the rough.
I don't know what their agreement with Alaska is, so they might be required to provide a goalie as part of the partnership.

I agree that he was a throw-in and that they probably won't re-sign him, but I think it wouldn't hurt to give him a chance in the AHL anyway ... would make more sense than MacDonald, who is 100 percent done with the Flames after that season (or earlier through a trade) in any case. Who knows what Roy could do if given a chance and put in the right situation. Would probably be tough to find a spot for him if Gillies turns pro, but if not, he'd be nice to have in Abby.

I think even if Gillies turns pro, he should be in the ECHL for the whole year. Roy should be in the AHL with Ortio.
