I hope Backlund is feeling better today. Even when he has struggled, he plays well against the Nucks.
The Flames tend to play to the level of their opponent, so this should be a better game than Friday. This is the first game for Vancouver since last Sunday. Let's hope they got fat and lazy over the break.

^ That is a long break for Vancouver, so I hope that it works to the Flames advantage. I predict that the team will rally back after the sluggish start against the Oilers. Holidays probably do terrible things to most teams but the Flames have already shaken off the rust.
I hate Vancouver.

Surprised he is the one coming up especially since it seems he has been playing center and wing so far in Abbotsford. Hard to see him put in as center to replace Backlund.

He has been playing very well in Abby this year and the Flames want to reward him. Nothing surprising here.

So has Street, Hanowski, Reinhart, Knight etc.
I found it surprising because I thought that Granlund was a guy they would keep in Abbotsford for the year to let him get accustomed to the NA ice/game and use guys like Street/Reinhart/Jones as the short term call-ups.
Not saying it is a bad thing he is up just surprising to me is all.
