Heat really letting off the gas here in the third, still haven't registered a shot this period and now Sven just took a tripping penalty in the offensive zone.
Street coming up the left wing, drops it back to Reinhart who feeds it across to a streaking Jooris, dekes the goalie and buries it. Really nice tic-tac-toe play.

Ortio is a rock back there. He really looks steady, swallowing up a lot of pucks, and making big saves at crucial times. Got help with three posts tonight, but he really was deserving of the 2nd star despite the 5-1 score IMO.
I tried to watch Wotherspoon, and as expected nothing spectacular. Just steady back there, good positioning, and solid outlet passes. Finished the game with no points, no shots and a +2.
Granlund has gone ice cold, pointless in 4 games now and didn't even register a shot tonight. Funnily enough, his 4 game pointless stretch coincides directly with Ferland being out of the line up. He really looked to be fighting the puck tonight too.
Baertschi with 4 more shots, now has 14 in 4 games.....still without a point though, but they will come eventually.

I've apparently missed it. What injury does Ferland have?
Knee injury of some sort.
When Burke was interviewed by the Hamilton PBP crew in the 2nd intermission of the Heat/Bulldog game, he said that "it was unfortunate" and also that it was a "serious injury".
He didn't go into any further detail, but I can't see Ferland being back anytime soon if those comments are accurate.
Really sucks.

Also, I recommend to anyone that has 8:00-11:00pm MST free tonight, and $6.99 they are willing to part with, go ahead and order the Heat/Barons game on AHL live.
Being home for the holidays I've been able to do this for the last two games, and it's been a treat to watch our prospects play with my own eyeballs for a change.
