Romo had back surgery this morning and is once and for all officially done for the season.

The best player in the game comes back Sunday. Aaron Rodgers is back.

Happy to hear Rodgers is back, hope the Packers make some unexpected noise.

I said it already earlier but I just feel bad for Romo, I think he's a good guy, shame that a lot of his hard work this year will ultimately leave the end results out of his hands (regardless of results).

Still, go Eagles.

I think Orton is about as good as a backup could be. I think Dallas' offense will operate fine. I just don't think Dallas' defense can stop Philadelphia which has been prolific at times this year. So, in the end, who the starting QB will be, is inconsequential IMO.

Peyton Manning AND Rodgers are back? Didn't realize Manning was gone.

Interesting...

Bill O'Brien has emerged as the overwhelming favorite to become the next coach of the Houston Texans, and the two sides are working to get a deal in place within the next week, league sources told ESPN.

O'Brien met with the Texans this week after Christmas at his home in Cape Cod, resulting in intensified discussions they hope will culminate with a finalized contract, the sources said.

Otherwise, Black Monday looms for a bunch of other coaches. Shanahan in WSH, Fraizer in MIN. The Rex Ryan circus (though he may have done the most with the least he's had as a Jets coach this year) is also up in the air. Dennis Allen with the perpetually changing Raiders(though I think that's dependant on Gruden coming back). Schwartz in Detroit as well. No one ever knows what Jerry Jones is going to do, especially if Dallas doesn't make the playoffs tomorrow (though the Romo injury may help Garrett). Again, Gruden could come into play here. Does Schiano survive after a disastrous start? Coughlin likely survives in NY, but likely his last free pass.

The Texas NCAA job will set some dominoes as well if it's an NFL coach going there, as there have been whispers about a number of NFL coaches rumored to go there.

Good news for the Packers as Randall Cobb is indeed starting....so other than Jermichael, this will be the first time the whole cast has been together since week 3.

I hope GB slobber knocks Cutler and his crew, but these games are almost always close and this one is likely to be no different. I have to believe that Rodgers is uber-focussed today as he can salvage what has been a forgettable season thus far for him.

In a day of so many huge games, Indy-Jax is one of only 3 that don't matter, and it's the game RedZone has decided to feature the most so far. At least it's a close game..

If the Colts win, Patriots lose and Bengals lose the Colts are the 2 seed so yes the game does matter.

RedZone isn't about showing the best games, its about showing scoring plays. Its basically the fantasy channel. It works best at the end of games around 1:45 because then if there's a bunch of close games it'll toggle.

Ah, didn't realize that. Too focused on the NFC implications I guess. Either way, I've seen a lot more of that game than I thought I would to this point

RedZone is a wonderful supplement to Sunday Ticket. Sunday Ticket is still the way to go.

Yup, I got Sunday Ticket too. This is my first year with RZ, cuz it came free with the Ticket this year. It's glorious. Jumping back & forth between RZ & the Car/Atl game this morning. With the Falcons controlling the game early, I can't shake the feeling they're just setting me up for a big disappointment. That and actively pulling for them is very unsettling.

Edit: right on cue. Matty Melt sighting. Ugh..

Looks like Baltimore is gonna need Cleveland, the Jets and Kansas City to win to make the playoffs. Offense can't get to 20 points, thats a lot of FG drives. Setting up really good for the Chargers right now though.

Pittsburgh is already up 14, so looks like the Ravens are finished.
