FIFA is next gen and I can't speak for NBA 14 but Madden plays better on the PS3/360. The NFL really screwed up giving EA sole rights to Madden as I used to be an avid player purchasing it every season but you get tired paying full retail for the same game over and over only with minor tweaks and half the time they make changes it's for the worse as one year running QB's will be impossible to stop so next season they will fix that only to make CB's all shutdown corners intercepting passes anytime they are remotely close to the ball. No competition has made Madden a sloppy product not worthy of the NFL license.

Pretty much sums it up. Looks like a high end last gen game, AWESOME ship stuff, rest is so-so.

Not sure why Ubisoft continues to think missions where you follow people around listening to conversations are even mildly interesting. Just brutally boring and often frustrating.

Also not sure why they think it's necessary to force the Assassin's Creed license on to everything. What would've been so bad about an original pirate game? Free from the franchise constraints they could've done some really cool stuff, had a different combat system/mission structure, and ditched the lame present-day story no one ever cares about.

Just wondering if anyone can help with my PS4...

Everything seems to work fine until I put a disc in. For example, I'll put in AC4, it'll load up to the start screen, and I choose single player, and start the campaign. Immediately after the loading screen ends, when the developer names starts to pop up, the game crashes. Every single time.

Error CE-34787-0.

It will do this with every game I have. With COD, it'll get about halfway through the opening video and crash.

I haven't found anything concrete online. I've tried while not connected to PSN, I've re-initialized my console, I've deleted and re-installed the games... nothing. It happens for each game at almost the exact same point.

I don't think it's overheating or anything like that, but this is extremely frustrating. I was one of those who switched from Microsoft to Sony with this generation, but this may be the worst console launch I have witnessed.

A quick Google search tells me it's a psn issue. You can logoff psn and play your games offline just fine.

Except that we've been hearing about hardware problems from both ends since the PS4 and XB1 have come out on this very forum, so it's not surprising that a couple people might have issues...

The problems have been much more numerous on PS4s.

Tech support disconnected me in the middle of a sentence all three times I called. Absolutely useless.

Really? I haven't seen any solid numbers yet coming out about that. Perhaps you should do like PIMking with his faulty Xbone - just get a brand new replacement.

Were you calling yesterday or today since your post? It is Christmas time after all - lots of services are pretty strained right now. Steam, PSN, eShop were just some of ones that I noticed myself. Makes sense with all the gifts people got.

And there are currently no PS4s on any store shelves in Calgary. I already went through all the trouble looking for one in the first place, so it pisses me off that I have to do it all again.

So, after spending 3 hours on the phone, apparently I'm being sent a box tomorrow to send the PS4 to Ontario and will receive a new one in a week.

They said the same thing about my Gen 1 360 when it RROD'd after 5 years and it took 2 months to get a replacement, so I will be very surprised if it takes only a week.

My PS3 did the exact same thing last gen. Would get about 15 seconds into a game's boot-up and crash. It was an overheating issue.

Same thing happened, they sent a box and, surprisingly enough, I did actually have a new PS3 in about a week.

A friend of mine had a PS4 that crapped out that he overpaid for on kijiji and didn't bother to get a receipt. After fighting with Sony for a few days they eventually agreed to replace it. It took less than a week from when he sent it out to receive the new one and we are out in the sticks here so hopefully you will get yours sooner or around the same amount of time. Best of luck.

FIFA is definitely better on the PS4. The PS3 version can take forever to load, get through menus and just generally sticks with the same old stock animations. It's not a good looking game.

The PS4 version? One of the best sports games I've ever played. I'm really excited for the FIFA franchise when it comes to next-gen. The physics engine is already unreal. I have some minor complaints about the ridiculous rubber-band AI, and the passing is still shockingly erratic, but overall it keeps me hooked.

Madden, as EE mentioned, is a complete disgrace. I'm disgusted with myself for purchasing the PS3 version and then getting the PS4 version for Christmas. There are some interesting new animations, but the players look like they were imported from early 00s Madden. They honestly look better on the PS3. I'm probably going to try and trade or sell Madden and just hold out until some more titles start hitting the shelves.

This may also be the last Madden I buy for a few years. It's nice they put owner mode back in, so that'll keep me busy but the gameplay just isn't making any major improvements and you can tell EA just doesn't give a crap because they know they have license and idiots will just keep giving them money. At least FIFA has to look over it's shoulder at PES (barely).

I would say he is of reasonable intelligence. I would have made sure to get a receipt though and that part eluded him.
